I know they are very different but I can see myself living with either breed (and several of them at that!). I do have large (and X-large) dog experience as well as small dog experience. The breeds are Shih Tzu and Dogue de Bordeaux. I have had experience with both breeds but I was just wondering what others think about the pros and cons to the breeds. Please don't suggest other breeds because these are the only two I have interest in. (These are the last of quite a few breeds.)

The Dogue is the French Mastiff. And my Shih Tzu I would keep "puppy clipped" so not to get tangles or dirty as quickly. It really depends on the day, sometimes its active and other times mellow. I'm more adaptable than most dogs...lol. I'm not getting on right away but when I move into my house is when I will be getting one, but that isn't for several months.

Shi tzu's need consistent training and ALOT of grooming, but enjoy short walks. Dogue de Bordeaux need alot of exercise but are very calm and patient. You should have an experienced trainer train it though. Good Choices!

it could help to comprehend additionally what your particular situation is. area, age of youngsters, different animals, etc. What could be a expert for one situation might actually be con for yet another (examples: Are you searching for a superb look after canine besides or one that is far less possibly to disturb associates with barking? A canine that bonds nicely with a single proprietor as antagonistic to a minimum of one which would be extra useful for youthful toddlers or in the event that they are extra possibly to be indoors or out assorted the time?). What have been searching for widely used in terms of what you assume of the animal and what have been your motives for narrowing the determination to those particular breeds? For starters nonetheless, i comprehend that labs are rather basic going for the main area, (nonetheless severe ability- which would be complicated in the event that they get bored) while Cockers could be slightly temperamental (and that i did no longer comprehend this till I have been given one). of course, word of FUR! short haired labs do no longer want trimming, and the fast hairs are from time to time slightly extra handy on the vacuum as antagonistic to the longer hair of the goldens, that would additionally require some grooming or brushing periodically, yet cockers will require usual journeys to the groomer or the time and ability to do it your self (a great number of it - you would be surprised how plenty fur there is on a canine that small). additionally the floppy eared tend to be extra vulnerable to ear an infection = ditto for the droopy eyed and eye infections. And a random word: if the canine is to accompany you on drives, from time to time the smaller ones get carsick slightly extra actual for the reason that they are able to't see out or get tossed approximately extra actual. And please do no longer provide up on a rescue in simple terms yet. it could take time to discover the main suitable canine, even from the breeder. i attempted 6 shelters in 2 months of looking in the previous i found the main suitable canine I ever had. Its rather genuinely worth the wait and you may discover that in simple terms for the reason which you pay for a purebred can't make it extra handy to discover one you like. each and each canine has a special character no count what the genetics.
