Almost everywhere you go you will need parental concent, and if they tell you you dont need parental concent then you know its a crappy and probably dirty place to go.

I am a professional piercer. I cannot speak for everyone, but personally i would not pierce the tongue of someone that young. The youngest i would pierce a tongue on is probably 16. A piercing is alot of responsibility! The mantinence and aftercare are crucial! I could not ( in good judgement) pierce the tongue of a 14 year old, knowing that if anything did happen to go wrong ( because of improper aftercare) i would feel guilty. There are many things that can go wrong. Dental issues, chipping teeth if you bite the ball or bar. Wearing down of gums from playing with it, or wearing improperly sized jewelry. My best advice is to wait a couple of years, do ALOT of research, find a good local piercer. Make sure they are APP certified. You can check by looking on www.safepiercing.org Also look into it, make sure it is what your really want. This website is a great learning guide, also it helps understand risks and what can be done to avoid problems, and what to look for in a shop. You get what you pay for in a piercing! Dont go bargin hunting! It makes you wonder where they are cutting corners! My guess would be in their sterilization techniques or the quality of the jewelry. So ask lots of questions! Check out the shop. Is it clean? Is the piercer clean and well groomed? Do they go over the procedure and the aftercare?? Trust me, go to a good shop. Dont be scared to ask questions. Youd rather get it right the first time! A healthy piercing can last a lifetime if done right and taken care of so spend your money wisely! Its an investment!
