You are putting a lot more faith in people than you should. People need (or have deluded themselves into thinking that they need, take your pick) a deity.

As a direct response to your question, if people where so enlightened as to understand and believe that, then possibly yes.

However, I think that a better statement to end all religious wars would be:

"Is this what your merciful God wants you to do?"

Or perhaps an even better all encompassing question that doesn't even imply a belief in a creator being:

"Is the way I am doing things working in the way I want it to?"

The latter one does, however, imply that you have enough wisdom to know where you want to ultimately go (world peace, etc.) and that you realize what you are doing to get there and if it is working.

It's not the belief or disbelief in God(s) that is screwing up all of this, it is the interpretation of things. Most people accept that the Bible is a sacred work, fewer people realize that it was written over the course of several centuries, translated repeatedly (and sometimes deliberately altered), and set for cultures that have died. Oh, and that it was written by human beings. Basically, if the ultimate message of God, or for just living peacefully on the planet, is something like "show compassion for your neighbor", then the Bible is wrong. Someone who believes in God's ultimate mercy for all people, cannot believe in the Bible verbatium.

We do not need to get rid of a merciful being like God, we need to get rid of false interpretations of the deity. And we need to show respect and tolerance towards others. If they want to continue to believe in a schizophrenic God, then that is their choice. But the compassion that someone who realizes the fallacies will eventually turn them away from that or negate the effects of the others. God is there to be the example, but we have to climb the mountain on our own. This is not proselytizing, just show them compassion, you don't have to believe in a deity, you just have to want a peaceful world.

Or.......how about these four words...."Every knee shall bow".....even those who think God is imaginary! All things will be resolved then. No more war....no more questions....and your hereafter is already decided if you don't believe in God.

John 3:18

"He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

How about this?

GOD EXISTS

I've resolved all Biblical questions, all Hereafter questions, and the need for ALL religious wars in just TWO words.

Resolve? No why would those words resolve anything. Believing them, no thats a whole 'nother story.

God IS imaginary.

Atheist.

of course god is imaginary, people pray to someone they cannot see, believe in a being they do not know exists, and the more fundie ones try pushing their belief system on others. They dislike other religions, stating theirs is 'the one true faith'. They might as well worship the tooth fairy for all the good its going to do them.

You may not like it that we are here but guess what we aren't going anywhere. You can try your hardest and we will never stop, shut up, or just go away. We are right and we know it and if you can't handle that well go cry a river and build a bridge to somewhere else.

No because theists when they read that do not see the word "imaginary" they see the word "great".
You have to feel sorry for them.

Of course they can. A society that embraces that fact will surely find peace and prosperity. It worked out great for the Soviets.

Edit: People, it's sarcasm. Read between the lines before you down-rate.
