The books in the Bible were God inspired. I do not believe that they were wrong, nor are they liars. But lets remember that it was man that actually put together the books of the Bible. That is why there are Bibles out there that contain more-or-less or different books in their Bible.
You can do research and realize that there are multiple versions of some books/stories of the Bible, MAN decided which one they liked the best and included it in the Bible that we know today.

The Bible was written by man. It is nothing more than a history book and a defining of the laws of God. No man is perfect. No man will ever be able to tell a story exactly the way it happened 2 times in a row. and the Bible has already been rewritten for translation purposes millions of times. Every translation changes the story .You take it from there. And unless you had found some scrolls written by Jesus himself then no I wouldn't believe you were chosen to add to the Bible. How can you add to a time you never knew? The Bible is then This is now.

No. Several people over many hundreds of years writing the same things - both of events and God's will? Too many of them corroborating the same things to be liars.
Also - how come it has survived all these generations? If it was simply a farce or a book, it would have died a death, but generations of saints and followers of Christ kept the Word safe, and had spiritual experiences themselves.
Put it to the test, in James it says to read and then pray to find out if these things are true. So why not read it and pray for a witness? You'll either prove to yourself that it's true or that you have no reason to believe it - so it won't be a waste of your time.
I also believe in modern day revelation. So if you were a righteous person and ordained a prophet, then yes, I would believe you if you wrote. You couldn't add it to the Bible, but you could write scripture. Most of us can't and won't though.

One reason I believe the writers of the Bible is because every predictions (prophecy) that was made in scripture has come to pass whether scientific or historical. Example: The Hittites are listed as a civilization in scripture but non-believing archaeologists denied their existence. During the first half of the 20th century, archaeologists discovered a Hittite city. Archaeologists finally had to acknowledge the accuracy of the Bible on this issue.
I would not believe you if you said that God had picked you to add to the Bible because the Bible says that it is complete and that he who adds to it will be condemned.

The supposed "historical facts" don’t even line up. Like the wrong prophet with the wrong king at the wrong battle and it was first written down years after the fact. That’s is historical fiction. The setting maybe a historical fact, but what they said happened is fiction. We don’t know who wrote the gospel, The first one Mark was written at least 30 to 60 years after Jesus died. Matthew and Luke had a copy of Mark with them when they wrote their books. John was deliberately written to fill in the gaps and the arguments that the new christian faith was having. These are stories passed on for years and years before written down. None of these are first hand accounts even though they are written that way.
Every religion has their spin on it, but try to find the facts. The conclusion is that there is little in the bible old or new that is fact. It mentions places that are real, but that’s about it. You can walk the streets where Jesus carried his cross, but did he really carry a cross? I try to find sources out side the bible that mention the same thing the bible does. Like the census that was talked and why Joseph went to Bethlehem. No record of it ever happening outside the bible. This is not the stone age. There was all kinds of trading with other countries. Something should have been mention somewhere about this massive disruption of the economy. Anyhow, we base our faith on the stories of Jesus in the gospels. If they can not be proven as fact, even by the Roman empire, then faith is based on fiction?

I think that the account is pretty clear. And the accounts don't make the disciples look too good. They are constantly in doubt, missing the point; they make themselves look timid and unbelieving. That's not the typical way a liar does things.
And then there is the whole thing about the body of Jesus. It was guarded by Roman soldiers who probably lost their life because somehow the tomb ended up empty.
And then after all their doubt before and just after the resurrection, they allowed themselves to go through painful deaths over their stories. The idea is; something changed them. They were not like they were while they walked with Jesus. And they were slain in several painful ways while not recanting their story. One was tied down and his skin flayed from his body. A couple of them were crucified. John was put in boiling oil, even though he somehow escaped. But there is no account of any of them backing down when they faced these things.
I think that's pretty good evidence that they were not lying.

The bible was written by man, so to the Koran etc. Interpretations of God's will is determined according to either the need or greed of the interpreting body, nothing more, nothing less. Science and evolution also support God's word in many areas; e.g. God made Eve from Adam's rib - we now have cloning. One religious group refuses blood transfusions - AIDS and blood contamination did arrive. The list is endless when you start looking through different eyes. It would be reasonable to suggest that not one writing or interpretation of religious record has not been influenced by either need or greed. e.g. The Catholic church has an immense amount of power both financially and politically. The only true interpretation is your own - so read all of the writings of different persuasions.

No one should believe all the contents of the Bible. It bears only some resemblance to what is was originally. It is the work of many writers and has undergone many translations and interpretations and changed each time this happened, each writer made changes according to his own opinion. Also it is an acient text and must be taken with a grain or two of salt.

We know that He didn't pick you and we can't believe you. The Bible was complete in the first century when God inspire ed the Apostle Paul to fulfill the Word of God. Colossians 1: 25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

You have to consider that the Bible does not continue to be written TODAY. So to answer your last question, NO, I would not believe the Bible if you said that God picked you today. The world has evolved so much and evil has proliferated. I have no concrete reason to believe authors of the Bible other than God himself, and the faith I have in my God. The holy book has been passed on from generation to generation to generation to generation. I have no reason NOT to believe it.
