do you really need to get a hdtv for a ps3?? i mean i have a 36 inch tv but its not hdtv or nottin but it still shows a excellent image. Does it really matter??

I have a 65" HDTV and I love the way my PS3 looks on it.
I played it on my 32' TV (standard definition) and it didn't look as good. If you don't have anything to compare it to I guess it doesn't make a difference . But if you get an HD TV you will love it.

An HDTV using the HDMI port would make an amazing difference. Go to one of the electronics stores and see if you can find a demo of the PS3 playing on an HDTV. http://schoolofhdtv.com/

NO IS THE ANSWER TO YR QUESTION.DONT GET ME WRONG IT WILL GIVE YOU THE BEST PICTURE EVER WITH A HDTV BUT YOU WILL AS YOU HAVE SED STILL SEE THE GRAPHICS.AM AWAITING MY PS3 AND CANT WAIT I HAV A WIDE SCREEN TV BUT IS NOT HD READY THAT WILL PROBERLY COME AFTER XMAS BUT AM NOT WORRYED BY IT AND WILL STILL INJOY MY PS3 LIKE THE DAY I GOT MY PSP AND NOW THERES A NEW ONE PSP LITE AND THE SAME WITH MY NOKIA N95 NOW I HERE THEY ARE BRING A NEW ONE OUT NOKIA N95 8GB.SO I DONT HAVE A TV OUT AND ITS NOT GONE ON A DIET OK ITS NOT GOT 8GB AND DOSNT COME IN BLACK AND SO I DONT HAV A HDTV TO WATCH HD PICTURES BUT THIS ISNT WHY I AM AND HAV BORT THESE PRODUCTS IS IT.GOOD GAMING TO U MY BROTHER IN THE GADGET WORLD AND PEACE BE WITH U.

HGTV is the best. Great Quality! U dont need a HGTV for the Ps3. But if you want great image quality and impress ppl. then HGTV is the way to go. Also PS3 's wont work on tv's with a round screen

Not really,
I haven't upgraded mine yet, either and it's only 26inch.
I'll probably wait till sometime next year, when I've saved enough and the prices drop a bit more.
I don't want to leave myself short of cash at the minute, not with the big slew of games about to come out and xmas round the corner.
+ it's something to look forward too, knowing i'm going to get a extra level of goodness out of my games a bit later on.

I'm not sure about PS3 but I know that there is a huge difference between HD and regular with my XBOX360 so I would say it matters.
