I doubt the devil invented evolution. But he surely rejoiced when Darwin did.

I don't exactly "believe" in evolution, because if you "believe" in something, it makes it difficult for the thing to change in the light of advancing understanding. I think evolution's a pretty strong theory to help explain the development of complex life forms. I don't think it's a complete theory yet, or there'd be nothing left to learn. But I think it's the best theory we currently have, supported by evidence. I don't believe in the existence of the devil (excuse the suit, it's a gag), so I don't believe anything is an invention of the devil...not even Simon Cowell, though I admit, I'm hard pressed to discover what environmental challenges he evolved to master.

Why does evolution have to be the product of Satan? Where is this unwritten rule that science and religion cannot co-exist?

Many of those religious acknowledge that God has a plan. That plan stretches back from the beginning of time until the end of time. Taken in this context, the evolution from single-celled organisms to modern humanity is yet another stunning example of God's perfect plan.

Many people take creationism literally, while forgetting that most of the Bible is metaphorical. A high power isn't going to talk about the origin of life in terms of billions of years, ort clouds, and molecular bindings. They will instead speak in metaphor.

When one compares Genesis to scientists' discoveries on the origins of the Universe, the two nearly match. The metaphor coincides with study.

And yet we stand on opposite sides of a needless battlefield, so much more the ignorant because we've decided to draw a line in the sand between religious and secular knowledge.

Evolution occurs and this is a fact.

The extent of Evolution's role in creating the plethora of species we have today, including mankind this is what I am still unsure about.

God created the cosmos with order. Therefore Science is possible, it is not from the devil.

I acknowledge that evolution is the process by which life flourishes and diversifies on this planet. I just happen to believe that God is behind it.

The theory of evolution doesn't HAVE TO contradict anything in Genesis, if a person is open-minded enough to look at the account symbolically. If you are willing to view it as symbolism, then compare it to the theory of evolution, it actually makes quite a bit of sense.

After all, Christ taught in parables during his time on this earth ... who is to say that God hadn't been teaching in parables all along?

I believe in evolution only because it is the only theory out there that makes any sense at all, as for the rest I simply see it as plain religious insanity.

I think that it is immature and intellectually dishonest to blame anything one does not like on any purportedly evil scapegoat.

Anyone can easily drum up lists upon lists of why any Bush or any Clinton are 'evil' 'demonic' or whatever, and a smiliar list of why the ones one likes (if any) are 'good' and even 'Christian.' It's appallingly easy to do, and one gets the smug satisfaction of having a convenient 'evil' enemy... but where does it get us? nowhere, except deeper into hate, venom and vitriol.

let it go.

I do believe in evolution.

It's far more plausible than a story about some all present, all powerful, all knowing being (which, conveniently, no one has met) creating everything in seven days.

I mean, come on, did he pull it out of his *** or something?
