you are interested at the time and say you will, but then later decide that you don't want to go....do you have to feel bad about it?

Is it okay to just not show up?

Yup... it's called changing your mind. Why feel bad about it?

I don't fall for this usually but a coupla years ago there was an attractive French girl with pleasant looking breasts selling sign-ups to a conservation organisation.
I signed up for what I thought was a year @ $20 a month direct from my bank account.
I was gonna de-sign a coupla times but never got around to it.
Now it just salves my conscience a little cos I'm inactive in conservation generally.

I know this feeling! I'm warm-hearted and don't like to be rude to ppl especialy those who believe in their cause..Sometimes I feel bad to refuse on the spot, and mean to cancel later on by post or internet, but end up still feeling bad about it.

You feel like you have been selfish and not compassionate towards good causes, but the thing is that we don't know whether to trust the organization or in doubt whether our money is well spent.

NEVER join or attend ANYTHING a total stranger on the street invites you to; that's how people disappear or get robbed or indoctrinated into cults. If it happens again, just shake your head, keep walking and don't engage in conversation.

it is okay.

one should be careful about any stranger's invitation; they may not be what they seem.
