yes. ive been on and off them for many years and they usually help. they make it easier to cope with things and stop you from worrying so much. if you think you need them, go and see your doctor and ask for some.

Yes, Yes, Yes, I have been depressed on and off for over 40 years and the only thing that has gotten me to the point where I feel half alive again and able to deal with what I have to deal with. Maybe I'm lucky there are no side affects other than I was more tired than usual when I started, after my body got used to the medication I was no longer tiered during the day but the medicine has helped me sleep at night. It has also helped with my anxiety as well with the addition of an anti-anxiety medication. I know that medications can help a lot to make life a lot easier.

at times they are. first you should see if it's a problem that can either be fixed by you or by a psychologist. becuase if a drug is taken and you don't need it meaning you don't have a chemical imbalance then the drug can do more harm then good.
if however you know that everything in your life should be good and your not feeling good like unable to get out of bed or your just feeling like a zombie and not having any inspiration to live life the best way you know that you should be able to then yes. i would try a drug.
if you decide to try a drug stay smart. be honest with your psychiatrist. if it's not working for you or your having weird thought that you havent had before then tell your doctor coz the drug is not working for you. sometimes your lucky and get the right drug the first time but, others you need to try different and new drugs.
well good luck.

I definitely think you should give it a try I would not recommend Paxil when I stopped taking that one I went through withdrawals but Zoloft is very good and if you have anxiety along with depression Prozac works very well also. also Zoloft and Prozace are very easy to stop taking and they are not addicting like Paxil is. Good luck and feel better.

Yes they are. I suffered in silence with Anxiety and depression for a number of years and sought help. Medication can help get through life. Some things it seems we are more born with like if the bio-chemistry in our brains doesn't function well.

I would not advise them once your on it is incredibly hard to get off them. Your body gets addicted, which has prevented people to suicide. I know it sound pretty harsh but it is true. So in the end it didn't really make a difference to yourself. If somebody is experiencing extreme depression then mabye you should consider them.
