i need to find out what the job slubbery entails the job is from 1844 i have tried other web sites without any luck. i have to find out this information for a school project based around the frist co-oprative in 1844.

It is in the cloth weaving industry. A slubber was a frame for twisting yarn. A slub is a lump of yarn in a thread which can either be an imperfection or a decorative addition. (E.g. a slub effect fabric). Slubbery was [presumably] the job of the loom operator to either remove or introduce slubs. Since the slub effect is a relatively modern trend, I suspect that slubbery was the REMOVAL of slubs from the yarn.
