Your parents each pass on a series of genetic information, through the way of sexual reproduction. The female egg contains 22 chromosomes, and the male sperm pass on 23 chromosomes. These chromosomes combine and make you you. in these chromosomes, are strands of DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, and the dominant, as you can tell is more powerful than the recessive. The parents each pass on 4 sets of chromosomes and each contains a little bit different materials to make you. the only way you can get recessive traits is if both your parents give you that genetic information, you can get dominant genes if one dominant gene and one recessive genes, or 2 dominant genes hook up. I hope this helps.

Dominant And Recessive Traits

All genes are inherited the same way, one gene from each parent. The differences we see in individuals comes from genes having alleles or slightly different forms of the same gene. For any given trait there can be two or many alleles in the population. If one allele masks another it is called dominant because the phenotype looks the same between an individual with two like copies and an individual with one dominant and one recessive copy. The phenotype is different only with individuals with two copies of the masked or recessive gene.
An example is the gene called Bey2 that has a brown and a blue allele for eye color. The brown allele of the Bey2 gene is always dominant over the blue allele, so even if a person is heterozygous (one brown and one blue allele) for the Bey2 gene, the brown allele will be expressed producing brown eye pigment. However this is only one of several genes involved in eye color.

No. The operation of inheritance is extra complicated than that. numerous genes can impression guy or woman traits. some genes perform as switches. there is epigenetics on ideal of all of it. Thre are numerous stages of numerous consequences. Genetics is a lot extra complicated than a binary dominant/recessive equipment.
