We've been married for 10 years with one kid .We have a green card and are couple of years away from filing our citizenship Now after all those years my husband wants to dump me as he thinks that we can not continue our relationship because of our differences. Now he wants to go back to our home country and wants me to follow him there so that he can divorce me and can stay closer to his son.I dont want to move there right now as I dont want to leave my home here and take away all the facillities and education my son is getting. He(my son) is a citizen here by birth.and also I am not sure if my husband wants to dump me and my son in our home country and return back here so that he could get his own citizenship.so I am confused about whether to go there with him or stay here. Also he is warning me to leave us here on our own if we decide not to follow him in our home country. .Is there any way I could stay here if he decides to go back.should I file divorce here?

Talk to a lawyer. No one can make you do something you don't want to... At least in the US. The key question is the son. That is why you need a lawyer to tell you your options. You can also talk to Social Services.

If you leave this country or let him talk the child out of the country, then your options are decreased, perhaps to a point of no return.

You definetly need to see a lawyer, and start divorce proceedings. I wouldn't go back with him if i were you. Good luck
