Put aside actual religious beliefs, and think of the person that you are married to, or if you're not married, the person you're dating; have a crush on, etc. Would you want to spend ETERNITY with them? Why or why not?

Breeze: You are wrong, this has everything to do with religious beliefs. I can think of at least one church that uses that premise in their missionary lessons that if you join their church, you "get to" spend eternity with your spouse whereas if you aren't a member of their church, you don't.

I'd be fine spending it with my cat...who is convinced she is a person.

Putting religious beliefs aside, I feel there are various "1 persons or animals" I wouldn't mind spending eternity with including God.
I'm not much of a Group-type person but it would have to be someone I find interesting, challenging or that I just plain Love so much like my kitties.

Of course, putting aside religious factors limits the exchange of ideas. However the original question presupposes there will be "genders" in the hereafter. It may well be there will be no genders, and as such spending eternity with just one person, may not be the same type of relationship we experience now.

This has nothing to do with religious beliefs. My husband of 11 years is sexy and I wouldn't want to be with anyone else for eternity but him. I think if you are truly in love, it's easy to want to be with that person forever. However, it doesn't mean there won't be arguments over the years. We have lots of fights but still love each other.

No, I have based my faith on the belief that I will be reunited with all my loved ones and if I had to pick just one then I would pick my dog. He knew me better than anyone. He never got in my way and was the best friend I ever had and he cried with me and he would play for hours. Now he is gone. He never talked during a movie and never complained about dinner and he was always happy to see me!

No!!!! 8 years has been about 2 years too long! LOL Reasons - I married the wrong person! He's good looking, sweet, etc., but I'm bored with him. We have different ideas, ambitions, values. I didn't realise this before we married as I was still bowled over by his looks, but now I AM BORED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats a difficult question...I'm sure that I would become annoyed with him, just him, after like 100 years or so, and there's still the billion million years left of eternity...and we would run out of things to talk about...so no, but if the other options were alone for eternity or other ppl but no him for forever, then I would choose him. interesting question!

Well, these first fourteen years have been a helluva good time, and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. But our pledge was until death do us part.
All of eternity, that I want to spend only with someone who is perfect. He is the lover of my soul, and I am His beloved. He is mine, and I am His. Yes, I want to spend eternity with Him, the lover of my soul!

Absolutely definitely yes. Am 14 years old, have my year and a half anniversary coming up, and I know she's the one for me. It's nothing you can explain to anyone. When you know that person is the one. You know. Noone else can see it.

YES I would, I love my husband we have a great relationship and I would love to be with him for all eternity. However, once Jesus comes I will be with him for eternity. I will not know my husband.

yes i would like to spend eternity with just one person-my soul mate. i wont be needing anything or anyone else. my soul mate would be more than enough for me. eternity is not even enough to spend with someone you truly love(and loves you just the same).
