The regular US Army is about 507,000 but this number is being increased.
The Army National Guard is about 333,000
The Army Reserve is about 190,000.
Of that 156,000 in Iraq, it is a mix of all three components of the Army which is around 1,030,000.
That 156,000 also includes a lot of Air Force, Navy and the a large number of Marines.
Overall the US Armed Forces are about 2,000,000. About 1,000,000 of that is regular, and about 1,000,000 in the reserve side.
