As a progressive/liberal Christian, I take a lot of heat. I've often said that liberal Christians are like the middle children of the religious debate -- the fundies think we're "lukewarm", and although they're grateful we aren't threatening them with hell, many atheists still believe that we're delusional.
I'm not going to say that Wiccans don't get their fair share of "witchcraft is of the devil, you're going to hell", but some Christians are OBSESSED with pointing out who is a "true" Christian and who is not -- and its usually only members of their denomination (maybe even only members of their home church!) who are getting into Heaven. However, I believe that, on this board at least, Catholics probably get it worse than we do.
Just keep asking questions. Questioning and doubting is a natural part of faith. And don't let the fundies get you down.

I have found some really horrid things said to Muslims and Wiccans here..and not by just Christians.. I am shocked that such intolerance lives in this day and age. I am a moderate to liberal Christian and have only been attacked by Atheists. So I guess it's comes from every where!
Do you think that anyone agrees with the freedom of religion any more?
The Canadian Charter of Rights
fundamental freedoms (section 2), namely freedom of conscience, freedom of religion, freedom of thought, freedom of belief, freedom of expression, freedom of the press and of other media of communication, freedom of peaceful assembly, and freedom of association.
US Bill of Rights
First Amendment – Freedom of religion, speech, press, and peaceable assembly as well as the right to petition the government.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Yeah... I mean everyone gets flamed. I'm Wiccan, I've had to put up with crap from fundies, and from my own religion because apparently it's un-Wiccan to admit that the religion's only been around for 60 years!
Just hang in there, man.

Hmm I too are not able to see how you can mix Christianity and Wicca into one. The 2 have very unique ideals. If any individual calls themselves Wiccan, however believes Christ to be their follower, then they are not able to feel within the life of a couple of god, for this reason making them now not Wiccan. The significance of any faith is it is foremost notion...the only factor that keep all different forms of it is branches in combination (i.e believing in Christ is the only factor that bonds a Catholic and a Baptist and believing in god and goddess is the foremost factor that bonds a Gardnerian and Alexandrian Wiccan). Of direction there also are different elements that may be when compared, reminiscent of a notion in an afterlife, but so much religions convey the identical notion. So wherein can a Christian bond with a Wiccan? How can any individual feel in Jesus Christ as their savior, but cross towards their faith and feel within the life of a couple of god? Setting details apart there are individuals in a Christian department referred to as Gnostic's, which might be the extra open-minded/non secular variation of Christianity. Spiritually we percentage a few features, however total our ideals are nonetheless enormously unique. And do not confuse Witchcraft with Wicca both...there are individuals available in the market who declare to be one faith or don't have any faith and train Witchcraft. That does now not cause them to Wiccan. So prairie, such as you I are not able to see how any individual will also be each Wiccan and Christian. "I for my part do not see how that might occur with out bending one or the opposite (or each) thus far out of form that the time period "Christian" and/or "Wiccan" might not observe to the effect." I agree absolutely. I'm interested even though to learn the feedback of people who disagree with us. Good query! Deserves a celebrity! Love and light-weight, Blessed Be

I'd say when I answer as a Moderate Christian I get flammed about as much as when I answer as a Wiccan. Fundamentalism has taken over this country, and not just religion.

I myself would be considered a "fundie" I suppose but would never "flame" as that would be in fact a judgement of your knowledge or God's will in your life.
Judge not lest ye be judged

We all get our equal share of flaming.
Take a step back, and you will see that everyone hates everyone. This is wrong, we should all LOVE each other.
