Well sin in the beginning separated us spiritually from God and we physically deteriorated too -- so that's why Jesus came and gave His life so we could be reconciled back to God through Him. No human could take that place - Jesus took our place - He took our sin (human failings) upon Him in order to fulfil the requirement of God. We now have access to God and are no longer cut off.
Amazing isn't it!

What do you mean?... not born right with God! This is totally wrong!
ALL children are born right with God. It is through the sins that we, ourselves make that we separate ourselves from The Creator and His Mercy.
I think that the concept of original sin is one of the things that turn many off of Christianity... it just doesn't make sense!
There are some who think that Christianity represents religion in general -and they see things in Christianity which doesn't make sense to them... so they think that religion in general is non-sensical.
You get right with God by believing in Him -and just Him ; and in submitting totally to Him and His Will. That is what Islam means... to be in total submission to The Creator... ALL Prophets were Muslim.

If we assume there is a god for the sake of hypothesis, I suggest we ditch the concept of original sin as detrimental to both the credibility and integrity of both christianity and judaism. Acting in loco dei c u m in absentia sit, I would not visit the sins of the fathers upon subsequent generations.
We are born as palimpsests!

I don't think you are right. We are born into this world to learn certain lessons. We are all equal in the sight of our creator. Just becuase one person has leared a certain lesson and another hasn't doesn't mean we are below them in love. Just ask.
