I live in NJ (southern) not far from Philly. A friend of mine is studying Physical Therapy and is looking to interview a few vets (current, from Iraq or Afghanistan conflicts) as part of a class project. How would one go about finding these vets?

There are number of web sites that are read by active duty and recently separated vets. Do a web search for military blogs and then check out their readership. Most of the bloggers will list an email contact point for someone doing research.

You have a few options. Go to the local Veterans Administration Representatives office, VFW (Veterans of Foreign War), DAV (Disabled American Veterans), or the American Legion. Of course they should not just give you names, but should only pass on your name and number. Some Vets may call you.

If you can interview people via the internet, I would look up some military forums on the internet, join, and ask some of the Marines or their SO's.

Any VA hospital-the VA has a handy online locater or search online to see where the stories are coming from. Go talk to them.
