There was no "before" as there is no "after". God and creation were "always" and "ever". How are you going to possibly determine the when and if of God anyways, and what would that prove? God is, that's all that's necessary concerning heaven and earth. Perhaps the "void" created God, out of the ethers swirling above us out there! Perhaps God was just sitting on a cloud for millions of years, contemplating how he would go about creating Creation! And you're asking this question of mere humans? I'd suggest go into deep prayer. You'd be more likely to find your answer there. We're all just a part of the process of creation, we're not the source of Creation, so ask Him!

Are you serious, or just an agnostic? That question falls in the catagory of "how many angels can fit on the head of a pin"...it really doesn't matter, isn't salvation the real quest? If you are not a beliver, try sciencientoliogy (sp !) , its' mans way of trying to ' sift things out' . . . I believe. God was, is, and will always be. . . He was the only conciousness existing before creation as far as we know there are many things we don't know, and the question is do we need to know really? We have a short time here , lets prioritize on what is necessary and needed for each of us , and let the rest go....

Christianity answers the question of who created God in the very first verse of the very first book, Genesis:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1)

This verse tells us that God was acting before time when He created the universe. Many other verses from the New Testament tells us that God was acting before time began, and so, He created time, along with the other dimensions of our universe:

No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. (1 Corinthians 2:7)
This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time (2 Timothy 1:9)
The hope of eternal life, which God... promised before the beginning of time (Titus 1:2)
To the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. (Jude 1:25)

first of all, in case you do no longer have confidence in introduction or clever layout, take a path or 2 in biochemistry. The clotting cascade and different irreducibly complicated structures make me ask your self how any biochemist ought to have confidence in evolution. Now directly to Genesis. confident, they have been literal days ("...and the evening and the morning have been the 1st day..."etc.). It isn't clever for them to be longer than one literal day, regularly because of a logistical situation. If God created vegetation on the third day, yet did no longer create the sunlight till the fourth day, then does no longer all of the vegetation die out if the days have been figurative somewhat than literal? confident the Bible says that God is older than the international, because of the fact guy has in no way been a logo of durability. evaluating God's existence to the lifespan of an prevalent guy may well be like asserting that a guy grow to be alive formerly the start (hatching?) of a particular fruitfly--this is too small a yardstick. the international grow to be the oldest factor around for the early Bible writers. they did no longer understand the age of the stars, yet throughout the lineages of their oral and written histories they could get a particular approximation of the age of the earth. additionally undergo in ideas that "heaven" has extra desirable than one meaning in the Bible. There are 3 heavens--the 1st heaven is the ambience of the earth. the 2d heaven is the sunlight, moon, stars, etc. The third heaven is what we oftentimes think of of as heaven--the region the place God is residing. Genesis talks with regard to the introduction of the firmament (and later calls it heaven). It then is going directly to speak with regard to the separation of the two considerable bodies of water--the water in the sky (water vapor or clouds) and the water in the oceans, lakes, seas, rivers, etc. is clever to me.

This is in my opinion. As said by God's word in his holy book, he did create the heaven, the earth and everything in this world into which we call home. I personally think that GOd was thinking of what the outcomes would be as he was about to create heaven and earth. He already knows the future.
Hope this kind of gives you a glimpse of what I am thinking!

That is a very big question. And it has been a question of mine as well.

But then if we don't understand how this planet doesn't bump into other planets, but rather floats amongst a grand clockwork of gears in the Universe, how are we to understand the Creator of this master clock?
I think it might be like a four year old who does not know their times tables asking about calculus. It is far beyond our brain activity yet.

He wasn't anywhere, because there were no places He could be. God doesn't exist in time and space. Before time and space were created, God simply WAS. Not in a place. Just in eternity.

Why do you assume that God needs a physical place to be?
(And it says that He created the heavenS not heaven... it was referring to the sky.)
