Hi. Need a camshaft sensor for my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab, 2 wheel drive, 5.2 liter truck. I have tried Ebay and Autopartswarehouse.com and mopar.com. This is hard to find, please help. Thanx!!!

most people call it the pick up plate. it actually is the cam sensor because teh distributor turns at camshaft speed. i cannot tell you how important it is to not buy aftermarket cam or crank sensors. in the last year, i have had a minivan, a jeep, a ram van, and 2 trucks towed in with a brand new cam or crank sensor from a parts store that did not work out of the box. il've still got one in my toolbox. i looked it up at autozone, its 59.99. the chrysler part number is 56028143 and its 55.45, and any dealer could have it in one day if they didn't have it in stock, but most have them on the shelf.

Hard to find because you call it cam sensor,if you say pick up coil,it is in the distributor by the way, then all the part stores will have it.

The cam sensor is in the distributor. Replace the distributor, any parts house should have one.
