For the armed forces in general, its up to the sixth month. But it has to be something big, like a death in the family or you won the lottery if you are out of Basic, Boot, or whatever. Its also six months period. Not six months after Boot Camp.

If you signed the contract, you have to fufill your obligation. Your an adult now, when you make a choice, you have to live with it.

Y E S, and this will be done while you are in Boot Camp before you can graduate!!!! Your Drill Instructor and then the Company Commander will tell you of such action and the reason why. They will not wait 6 months after Boot Camp!!

Failure to adapt is synonymous with a person being incompatible with military service-yes, one can be put out for that but it usually happens when the person is in boot camp. I had a Marine recruit who was with me in boot camp that was put out for this just 10 days before graduation.

Failure to adapt is usually used to release/put out someone while they are in basic. I have never heard of it being used months after the fact, if you completed basic, you adapted!
