Are you doing your homework? Have you got to design a board game in French? I wonder if you live near here, my daughter just had to do this project...
We couldn't figure it out, so just put the 'setting up' instructions as the first part of the rules...

Dresser = To erect (a mast)
Eriger = To erect a statue
Installer = To set up a computer system, a stereo system, a model train set
Monter = Machine, tent, tripod, etc
Relever quelquechose = To set up something up again because it has fallen
Mettre une barriere entre les gens = To set up a barrier between people
Organiser = To set up a dinner, a meeting, an appointment, etc
Ouvrir un compte = To set up an account
S'installer dans une maison = To set up house or home
Aider quelqu'un a monter une affaire = To set somebody up in business
Se mettre a son compte = To set up in business
PS: In French slang you can use 'pieger' - They were set up is 'Ils ont ete victimes d'un coup monte'. A 'set-up' in French slang is 'machination' or un coup monte.
If you REALLY need to say it, 'Your flatmate is really cute, do you think you could set me up with him?' is 'Ton coloc est super mignon, tu crois que tu pourrais m'organiser un rancard avec lui?'

There are several different meanings of set up. What do you want to say in English first; then someone can translate it.

Most often "monter" I would say, but you can add "instaurer" Dori's list.
Or if you're setting a couple up, there must be something more colloquial than "presenter" but I don't know it.

Well... in some cases you can use mettre. I'm pretty sure "mettez la table" means set the table.
