I want a tattoo that will remind me of the the struggles in life i went through and then something that symbolizes that i got through it. i want something original though, and not thorns cause someone else has it.

It depends on what your struggles have been. You should repost this question with a little more description of what struggles you have been through and what you accomplished in getting through them. If your struggles are really personal then forget what I just said, but without knowing about your struggles, it's hard to suggest an original tattoo that is personalized.

I got a dragon for myself after I got through something big. Dragons are associated with wisdom and fire. Fire is the element of energy and doing, so it boiled down to moving smartly through it.
I like the phoenix suggestion to, and that is a symbol of rebirth or transformation. A butterfly is also a symbol of a tranformation.

Comes from a lot fo things I guess depends on what strugles in life you went through. A tattoo means something to you, so pick away.

You could get a tree... Those seem pretty peaceful to me. Or a tree with no leaves symbolizing all the **** you've dealt with and have one leaf left on the tree or something..
