Well I got my tattoo 3 days ago and It hasn't flaked yet but I think it scabbed or it's just raised. I've be washing it in the morning with fragrance free soap and before I go to sleep. I also have been putting fragrance free lotion on it aswell like im suppose to. So i'm just wondering does it take awhile for it to flake off and is it suppose to still be raised up?

It usually takes a good 2 weeks for your tattoo to fully heal. Do not use any ointments or vitamin creams, what you are doing is perfect. Once it starts to itch do not scratch! What I usually do it slap the area when it starts to itch, that will help. Do not pick the scabs let them fall off naturally.

The "raised" feeling is probably the scabs over your tattoo. It will take about a week for the scabs to start falling off, then about 1-2 weeks before they've all come off completely (provided they do so naturally, without you pulling/rubbing them off prematurely). After that, your tattoo will be shiny and opaque for about a week, when that goes away, your tattoo is pretty well healed. Give it another week or 2 before you submerge it in water, or expose it to direct sunlight/UV rays. (You should still avoid UV rays at all times, but especially in the first few weeks.)

Sounds like your tattoo is doing perfectly. Just keep with what you're doing, and don't pick or stratch the tattoo! If it itches, slap it. It should start flaking soon. What you're describing sounds like it's still a bit swollen, which is fine. Tattoos can remain swollen for the first few days to about a week.

Good luck!

I have 6 myself. It sounds pretty normal from the description. It took around 2 weeks to heal. You could use A & D ointment. It helps to heal as long as you use it very lightly. Using a lot will keep your tat from breathing and sometimes it will cause fading.
I have used both Eucerin and A&D Ointment. All of my tats are perfect!

it sounds like it is doing ok but you must remember ,, DONT pick at the scab when it scabs over , picking at it will pull some of the ink out, keep it moist as you are doing it will be fine :-)

give it time, keep it clean, always use your lotion on it, don't let it dry up, keep it out of the sun, & swimming pools-don't pick it-let the scabs fall off on their own.
