Turrets syndrome can cause many different reactions not just cursing. Although some people curse this is only one reaction some people jerk their body as if they're having a ceasor, others make noises with their mouths, such as cursing, yelling, sucking, or grinding their teeth. Turrets is usually the involuntary, and sometimes repetitive motion of different body parts. Many mentally handicap people have this disorder.

Tourette syndrome is an inherited anxiety disorder. Other family members might not have the classic tics but might have associated symptoms like obsessive compulsive disorder, adhd, alcohol/drug abuse.
The tics usually start with rapid eyeblinking. Some others include sniffing, throatclearing, raising forehead, pulling at clothes and many others. (People with TS cannot tolerate irritating tags in back of clothes and usually only wear soft clothing, like cotton).
Antidepressants or Strattera (non-amphetamine) for adhd are successful treatments. Beta blockers (blood pressure meds) that slow everything down are also used.

Tourettes Syndrome is a medical condition that is developed at and early age in children due to different reasons, and ive heard that a child may have it when born. it is NOT however the popular beleife that this condition causes whomever has it to randomly blurt out obscenities. some people with the condition may have this problem, but that is not all that comes from it. it is simply put uncontrolled actions that happen throughput the day randomly. like my brother has the condition, and he has small twitches. like a or a wink crack of a certain knuckle in a certain way. its not like OCD where you feel compelled to do it, and not liek an itch where you can resist it. it just happens, a sort of spasm. i have not researched it so i dont know exactly what it is or what causes it, im just going off of experioence of my brother having it as long as i can remember.
