We are not blaming our commander in chief for anything. I am in Iraq for my second VOLUNTARY tour of duty. I have lost friends over here. This war is a necessary display of force. It is easy for those of you too weak to stand up for what you believe in to bash those that do. Do you drive? Do you buy gas? Do you want to continue to drive? Gas comes from oil, oil comes from all over. The spoils of war. This war started 17 years ago when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Who are you to point a finger and judge? What have you done with your life? Have you ever been able to commit to anything other than bitching about problems you are too lazy to solve? If you think it's wrong then do something to change it. Thousands of my comrades in arms and I saw a problem, so we stepped up to the challenge to do something about. We kill the bad guys over here so you can drive down the road and not worry about an IED killing you, or a bus blowing up, or being shot by a sniper. Never forget, we protect you. Even though you may never see us, we will go into harms way to protect you and your right to speak out against us doing so. Though you may dislike or hate our president and/or the army, we will still keep you safe.

I don't think Bush to be a sage president, but I also don't think he is cynical enough to send so many to their deaths knowingly.
I think what happened is that he just grossly underestimated the conditions he'd be creating in Iraq if he toppled their dictator.
In countries where dictatorships last for the long term (like Iraq) it is typically because there are so many disparate factions that the dictator himself ends up being ruthless and brutal in order to stay on top.
Bush simply did not understand that by taking away the only influence that was keeping the Sunnis and the Shia (and the Kurds) from slaughtering each other he was going to unleash that slaughter.
Should he have?
You tell me...

It's easy to Blame Bush. That makes life easier for unimaginative people like you to blame him for everything.
Bush did not fly 2 planes into the WTC. Bush did not plant the roadside bombs or booby-trapped cars in shopping centers.
What are you doing to support the troops fighting for you?

Another liberal who did not bother to get the whole story.
And another person pretending the the enemy has not admitted that the only reason they keep fighting is the hope that the liberals in the US will win the war for them.
Of course the best parts of his speech were what the news media did not want you to see . . .
"On the other hand, unfortunately, I have issued ultimatums to some of you for unscrupulous reporting that was solely focused on supporting your agenda and preconceived notions of what our military had done."
"Let me review some of the descriptive phrases that have been used by some of you that have made my personal interfaces with the press corps difficult:
"Dictatorial and somewhat dense",
"Not a strategic thought",
Liar,
"Does not get it" and
The most inexperienced Lieutenant General."
Isn't it amazing how the news media's description of the man changes based on whether or not what he is saying agrees with their agenda?

The war in Iraq has been a terrible disaster caused by greed and ignorance, going into Iran would be the worst thing America could do, if they can only just handle a load of Iraqis with AK-47s and other archaic equiptment, they're not going to stand a chance against the Iranians.

Please get off the Bush bashing. Terrorists and enemy combatants killed US soldiers. Mr. Bush did not kill anyone.
In war, bad things happen. That's why war is hell. You cannot change history. Try making something good out of the Iraq situation if you can.

From the very beginning this 'war' was - and still is - all about OIL and WAR PROFITEERING.
The U.S. never intended to bring democracy to Iraq or peace to the Middle East. We are not 'in' Iraq fighting some unknown 'terrorists' from some unknown 'evil empire'.
Bush lied to Congress, hoodwinked the American people and conned our valiant U.S. troops into believing there was honorable purpose for this unconstitutional, insane, illegal, unjustified, immoral 'war' against another nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
675,000 Iraqis and 3,900 U.S. soldiers have given their lives so that a handful of wealthy elitists, industrialists and power brokers can become wealthier and more powerful.
The 'Republicrats' all know that the U.S. will not leave Iraq for decades - perhaps generations - until all of the OIL is sucked from its sands.
THAT'S WHY the number-one non-military 'benchmark' Bush insists the Iraqi Parliament pass is to surrender two-thirds of its oil fields to private foreign oil companies, which - in effect - allows corporations like Exxon-Mobil to literally STEAL Iraq's most valuable economic resource.
THAT'S WHY the U.S. is building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre sit in downtown Baghdad overlooking the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration.
THAT'S WHY Halliburton is building fourteen (yes - 14!) new permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and all their war-mongering friends deserve a special OIL-soaked, blood-stained corner of Hell where they can rot in eternity, along with:
* ALL 535 members of the most arrogant, contemptible, incompetent, cowardly, corrupt Republican-led Congress in U.S. history that stood by and allowed Bush to run rip shod over our Constitution
-and-
* ALL 535 members of the most arrogant, contemptible, incompetent, cowardly, corrupt Democratic-led Congress in U.S. history that promised to end this 'war' if elected, and - to date - have done absolutely nothing to honor their promise.
MAY GOD DAMN THEM ALL!! -RKO- 10/14/07

Sorry regerugged, but I can't think of one good thing to say about the Iraq fiasco. And it is a war that should never have happened.
