You can become a citizen by obtaining a green card, maintaining continuous permanent residence for 5 years, then filing the form N-400 with the USCIS. Go to www.uscis.gov for more info.

You also need to show proof of English Proficiency and Knowledge of American Civics, History and Government during the interview. These tests are required to all Citizenship applicants and you should answer correctly 80% to pass. Check www.uscis.gov and search Civics and Citizenship Study Materials under Education & Resources.

1) be born in United States
2) be a child of a US citizen (regardless of where you were born)
3) if legal alien living in united states, apply for a citizenship, take the test and pass it!
