If one's mind is totally convinced of the existence of god, with no actual proof, except for evidence that one's own emotions tout as proof -- that is not even a theory, is it?
Plus, they say there would be no way to disprove it.

If what they have is not even a theory, how can they denigrate ideas in science that are theories?

They want proof from science, but are satisfied with less than theories from themselves. You prove it to me, but I don't have to prove anything, implying of course that believers are somehow superior beings that know without proof of any kind whatsoever. The rantings of writers in the Bible is not proof.

Some things aren't a matter of science, man. If one is totally convinced that he or she loves someone, or even vice versa, that someone else loves him, with no actual proof, except for evidence that one's own emotions tout as proof, is that a theory?

Of course not. It's just a belief. It has nothing to do with science /at all/.

How do they [meaning, I imagine, religious fundies who hate science] denigrate science? Because they are uneducated and/or ignorant. Period.

In America, science is taught POORLY. In Europe and Australia, religion and science generally coexist peacefully. People believe in god, but they trust their scientists.

Because they have good education, and because they're not so caught up in their own egocentric selves.

Belief in a god is not the same as a theory as to a god's existence. A theory makes predictions that can be tested, which will either debunk or lend credence to the theory. I have heard of no testable predictions resulting from a god theory.

Same thing with Creationism/ID.

Belief in God can be much more than belief or theory. It can be a proved fact to those willing to go through the process of it being proved to them. As in all things in life, we have the choice. It is up to the individual which choice to make. Father would, that all His children follow His only begotten back to Him but gave them the choice. In order to go beyond believing in Father to Knowing Him, We must quit believing that our own intelligence is the utmost intelligence. We must quit leaning upon our own understanding and allow the spirit to bear witness to us. It is more than our thoughts and our emotions. If you ever allow it to happen, you will have no doubt of that. Even science says we only use about 10% of our brain. Why do you suppose that is? It is because our true intelligence has the capabillity to go far beyond what we use. Yet you think you know more than One able to use all 100% of His intelligence. How intelligent does that make you?

It is only a premise based on a persons' emotions. It would come up false in any test based on any viable evidence. They denigrate ideas in science because a person becomes defensive when their beliefs are questioned and they have no logical stance for a reply.

To count as a theory, a proposition must be falsifiable, and be supported by credible evidence. The god proposition meets neither of these, so it isn't a theory, it's pure speculation.

It's a theory in the sense of a folk-theory, only they think it's faith and a fact.
In the scientific sense, no it doesn't amount to a theory.

Belief in God is called Faith. Believers in God do not call it a theory, because for believers, Faith is all the proof needed. They do not question Faith.

I would expect this from someone who has never accepted God, or the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior. Please do not cut others down that you do not understand. You have alot of pent up anger. It is understandble that you must pin it on someone. Pick those who will not fight back with you because they now they truth. I am very sad for you.
