there is (quite an obscure) martial art which is most recognised by quite an amazing move.

you basically do a front flip, but your feet dont land on the floor, and instead onto the opponents shoulders either side of his head, and you somehow spin around and throw him to the ground. a spectacular looking moving.

id like to know tha name of the martial art.
its none of the usual, i.e karate, kung fu, ju jitsu, tae kwondo, muay thai, etc

Probably Karate.
Karate has a lot of moves where you drop into the opponent and land their kicks to the head along with it. Try searching for some of the Karate tournaments on youtube. Professional Karate fighters uses that a lot. Amateur level does not really use them though.

That sounds like either a hurricanrana, or a frakensteiner, and those are both wrestling techniques. Jujutsu, BJJ, and Capoeira do have some leg takedowns/submissions, but they usually don't begin with the head (Though I think Capoeira might have one or two).
If you search wikipedia for "Wrestling techniques," you'll see information about it. Professional wrestling is based off of actual historical wrestling used for self-defense, and many of the other techniques are taken from martial arts (Such as the fujiwara armbar).

Cnote and the other guy are pretty accurate too: You might not want to try that in a real fight unless the opponent is dazed (Or doesn't know how to react well to it), or you're master hurricanrana. :P

Sounds like something similar to Di Tan Chuan, which is a form of kung fu using various acrobatics and intentional falls to throw and strike the opponent.

not too sure what you are describing the closest thing i can think of is a pro wrestling move called hurricanrana

in which you jump on the person's shoulders and do like a backflip throwing them to the ground

totally not practical in a real fight but good for show

You saw this on a movie. This move is not practical; it would NEVER work in a real fight.
