In all honesty, it's because there's no need to. Metaphorically, however, they do it all the time. Water being an unstable surface which most things fall through, and walking on it being nearly impossible. The world is such an unstable surface. Lots of Christians drown in the world, and that's one reason a lot of them turn from their faith, and also why many choose not to even try. But even in the cruelty of today's society toward Christians and Christian events/practices, there are still some people who rise above the waves.
What purpose could I serve God by taking a stroll over the ocean? If God told me to do it, then I believe it would be a worthwhile act. Until then, I'll have to settle for walking on water in a metaphoric sense.

The answer to this question has to do with why Jesus himself did it in the first place. He did those things because he loved his disciples and wanted to help them and also in order to show the great power that he had and would use in the future as the king of God’s Kingdom.
One practical reason he walked on water was to get from here to there. We can use cars or public transportation. And we don't need to prove that we have been given power by God. We are not the king of God's kingdom.

They do!
Rev. 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
They are and walk above these waters of confusion and evil as they are born again, and they fall and sink as Peter when they loose faith, then Jesus is there to take them by the hand. That was the message and that was the symbology. It was done with a purpose in mind. To talk to us in the End Time.
As for physically walking on the water, it is not of much meaning to Christians. I think they prefer the Valley.

Please have a look at the topic of metaphysics.
It can be hard to find good solid information but more and more of our quantum physicists are blending their work with metaphysical studies.
Truly enlightened people are capable of bending the rules of the 4 dimensions we live in because they have knowledge we are simply not evolved to comprehend on the scale of the masses.
Schools of Eastern monks and many other groups of people around the world and individuals work daily at getting closer to enlightenment.
Those who cannot see past their own "intelligence" as they perceive it, to admit there are things we cannot understand or comprehend, will not progress to the enlightened stage very quickly - and maybe will not do this in time before the passing of this dimension. Arrogance among other negative human traits prevent enlightenment.

Even like non-believers, believers believe too much in their own wisdom. It is the natural man in all of us that does this. The natural man is essentially evil, being a part of this earth. It is the Spirit within that came from the presence Of our Father. One of the great purposes of life is to gain this body, but in order to have eternal life with it, we, the righteous spirit within, must overcome and conquer this natural man we were born into in this life. If we could fully overcome this natural man as Jesus did, we too could walk on water. It is the pride of the natural man that prevents us from doing so.

Hello.. :)
Great Question..
One must have faith without any doubt..
When I first came to the Lord..I had to cross over a stream to get to a store, it was in the early fall (no ice)..it was 10 feet wide..so I could not jump across..
So I prayed to the Lord and said Your Holy Word said, that we can ask anything of You and it shall be done..so I started to cross over the stream..on-top of the water..I was Praising the Lord..
Just as I was about to step on the other side..I said look what I am doing and you guessed it..I went up to my knees in cold water.. :(
I had taken my eyes off of Jesus and said Look at me.. :(
A friend did give me a ride home, from the store..
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With ~Love~ In Christ.. :)

The Bible lists the things that believers will be able to do.
It's in Mark 16:17 and 18: These are some of the signs that will accompany believers: They will throw out demons in My name, they will speak in new tongues, they will take snakes in their hands, they will drink poison and not be hurt, they will lay hands on the sick and make them well.
However it does not say that believers will walk on water! So I would say the answer is because the Bible doesn't say that they can do it.

Maybe it is for the same reason golfers who worship Tiger can't play golf the way he can, and those who emulate Gretzky cannot play hockey like him.
Jesus told his followers that they would be able to do everything that he had done and even be able to do greater things, so that seems to mean that if you follow his example not even the sky will be the limit.
