Yes. Ironic enough religious oppression, kept families together. Out of fear that they would disgrace their families. In the old days Divorce was scandal. Women who were divorced were looked at as having loose morals. They were thought to be the cause of the family breakdown. The man got a pass. Now today, with more women in the work field and loving their independence. They only need men for procreation. So, their not forced by religion or public opinion. They move on when relationship not working.

Kinda -- it's evolving.
I think there are three factors that began 50 years ago that effect the American Family. The Pill, Television and the Women's Movement. Two are obviously linked to a shifting role for women in that they have control over their bodies and they can go get a job and not depend on a man.
Television is rarely noted when we see how each generation of kids show less responsibility and have a sense of entitlement. Decent family or not, way too many kids are being raised with incredible self-empowering messages.

Laws of Shariat in Islam are closest ....to Natural laws

Young marrieds want a baby. So they have one. Then they stick him/her in front of a TV as early as age two and then in front of computer games. Then it's off to organized "play dates". It's shameful how many American homes have children's books. Most have less than five.
