No, because it wasn't really simpler. If I'd been born in the 1920's the first few years would probably have been fine, but then when the Depression hit, that would have been awful unless I was in a family that wasn't affected by it too much. Then just as I was getting to a point that I could go to college (if my family could afford it) WW II would start up. Granted some things might have been easier, but I'm glad I was born when I was.

When life was simple? In what way? There was a war going on, and I would have to worry about my husband being drafted every day. I would have to go stand in line for hours on end just to wait for a loaf of bread, or whatever they were selling that day, not to mention get all the other house work done and dinner made. That was no easy task either. Oh.. and having no money at all to even buy groceries for my family. Then being told that we need to turn the lights off to conserve energy in the evenings. Not being able to wear pants, or take birth control if I want. Yeah.. that sounds like a blast to me.

I was born in 1929, I was unaware that life was simple, and heroin was not available over, or under, the counter. i have lived through the most violent period in human history and have witnessed many great strides in medicine and technology, one modern bomb can kill more people than entire wars that preceded this era, that's progress, and more people die of starvation in one day than many past wars slaughtered. I don't feel blessed that I was born at that time, I am depressed that we have brought the world to the brink of disaster, and we still have not caught on to the evil of organized religion.

Not that simple - recovering from WW1 and getting ready for WW2. Not surprised they could get heroin over the counter. I would have been despondent.
No computers for homes, a lot without electricity, radios in short supply, no TV, no discos only tea dances. Think you would soon want to get back to today.

No, I don't.
Take that heroin. Wind up in a mental hospital. Become an addict. End up on the streets. Dope heads are total losers, in more ways than one.
Drugs are nothing to joke about.
I teach crack babies and children whose parents were heroin addicts. People like you need to be castrated if you insist on ruining not only your life but that of an innocent little child.

familys would all sit out on the lawn in the afternoon and have polite conversation while drinking Ceylon tea.
now they are all in seperate rooms some watching TV others playing computer games and getting drunk and punching each other. or injecting heroin as you quite rightly pointed out. I believe heroin is the new tea.

Nope. Without computers how can one live?
I wished I was aware of one fruit company starting up in 1977 I could have bought dozens of it's stocks. Too bad then I thought they were selling just "apples."
