I don't think, I basically know. The real difference is that the coffee has a much richer taste when brewed right after. If you grind it then keep it in a jar for safe-keeping, it's just the same as buying pre-grinded coffee. Also, I don't know about where you live but where I live there is a shop that sells coffee bean flavors unavailable in pre-ground packages.

YES!!!!! Coffee beans are just like any other food product, fresher the better. Dont make the mistake of putting your coffee in the fridge or frezzer, because this dries the beans out.I always grind my beans right before i brew. Try putting a shelled pecan in your beans, gind them brew, enjoy.

Actually yes. The beans last longer then when their ground. Ground beans go stale fast unless you have them vacuumed sealed. To really taste great coffee buy beans unroasted (you can get them from many places like coloumbia) They last forever then you roast small amounts to last the week and grind them when ya need them. My father in law makes his own coffee and I like it I cant drink store bought coffee.

i always wanted to try that out....but just too afraid to do it. I may not like it...but it is probably fresher. I know if i did i wouldn't probably get bit and pieces in my coffee cup, and that why i haven't tried any of it out. I know sam's club, wal-mart, and possible other stores out there that sell coffee beans.
