hotdog and eggs?

just curious, does anyone else make a omlet with hotdogs or put hotdogs in scrambled eggs, or is it sometihng my family made up? lol. cause all my uncles, and aunts etc do it they start frying hotdogs then put eggs over it.

I do, when I was younger my cousin called it Picnic Breakfast. We would also add some cheese. I loved it then and now and my kids love it....

How you can do it on your own:
1) Beaten egg flavoured with some salt and pepper,slice hotdog, heat up pan with some olive oil,stir fried the hotdog and put in the beaten egg.

2) Beaten egg flavoured with some salt and pepper, fried the hotdogs and take it out of the pan. Put some butter in pan, pour in the egg mixture and even out in the pan.Make sure its in a thin slice, spread some honey/cheese in top of the cook egg slice,place the hotdogs in top of the egg and then roll them.

I never encountered scrambled eggs with hotdog bits in it until I started working at an Amish farm ... they made it alot. And I must say, it was really good. They also stirred bits of cheese into it, after they were done cooking.

cut up hot dogs and brown.Pour scrambled egg mixture over hot dogs and cook. When done top with a slice of velvetta. Yum! ( you can add diced onion,mushrooms, peppers what ever you like too)
Or slice a hot dog in half the long way and then the short way. Brown. Add to an egg sandwich with cheese.
Fried bologna in an egg sandwich with cheese too!

Wow, that's a new one on me.
But, it makes perfect sense. A frankfurter is just a mild sausage. Oh, Oh, Oh, I gotta try it with chili and cheese as well! Guess what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow, can you say Captain Chilidog Omelet?

In Pennsylvania it is common to use ring bologna and then do this; ring bologna is not easily available in many places and some people substitute hot dogs instead.

I've never heard of it. But my dad puts mustard and crushed crackers in his omelets. Omelets are great like that....you can put anything you want in them.
