I'm 24 and this is embarrassing, but I can't drink. It doesn't matter how much I drink or what I drink (well, alcohol of course), I feel sick within an hour and have a horrible hangover the next day. I've tried everything including replacing fluids and electrolytes before bed (Gatorade), taking ibuprofen before bed (I know, not recommended), various OTC hangover remedies but nothing works. Now, I know you might think this is a good thing but it would be nice to have a beer with my friends or a glass of wine with a date and not feel like I'm going to die - I'm not looking to get drunk.

Does anybody know if it's possible to have some sort of enzyme deficiency where you can't digest alcohol? Anybody else have this problem? Suggestions?

Sorry to say it may just be something you have to accept.
My son is also Alcohol Intolerant. If he drinks any hard liquor his face swells 3 to 4 time it's normal size.
It has been something he has just learned to accept.
It is like any other allergic reaction. If you know what causes a problem you basically stay away from it.

It would not take place generally, yet on occasion. to date as i understand, i don't have an alcohol intolerence. I rejoice with slightly of night scotch some situations a week and have a lager or 2 besides and that i in no way have something circulate incorrect with such small quantities. It would not sound such as you're ingesting too a lot in any respect. i'm basically letting you already know that at the same time as i do no longer understand what's going on with you or why, you're no longer on my own with alcohol and unsightly bowl strikes. wish you artwork this out.

You are probably allergic to alcohol and you body is therefore rejecting it. Talk to your doctor and see if anything can be done. If not, think of all the money you'll save.
