No.
Biblical apocalyptic literature predicts the coming of "the" Antichrist, the name given to the one who will be Christ’s chief enemy. This will be just one person.
It is not uncommon for fundamentalist writers or preachers to attach the label to a currently living person. By calling a second (or third or fourth) person "the" Antichrist, they show that they were wrong when they applied the title to the first person.
Every Pope since the time of Martin Luther has been labeled "the" Antichrist by at least one anti-Catholic "Christian," making each one incorrect (so far).
The adjective "anti-Christ" does not refer to the person prophesied in the Bible. It may be applied to an attitude or action judged to be fundamentally opposed to Christ and his message, for example: Hating others is anti-Christ.
Pope Benedict XVI just wrote a wonderful book entitled, "Jesus of Nazareth." http://www.ignatius.com/ViewProduct.aspx?SID=1&Product_ID=3060&AFID=42
From a book review: Through his brilliance as a theologian and his personal conviction as a believer, the Pope shares a rich, compelling, flesh-and-blood portrait of Jesus and invites us to encounter, face-to-face, the central figure of the Christian faith.
How can someone who writes such a book be accused of being either the Antichrist or anti-Christ?
With love in Christ.

1 John 2:22
Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father and the Son.
1 John 4:3
but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
2 John 1:7
Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

Although such questions should not be asked on this forum,
let me tell you all this thing...
* No one can say who Antichrist or Dajjal is..it will be
revealed by Antichrist himself;
* Pope is the head of a religion, we must respect that;
* God exists and there is no doubt about it;

First John 4:3 tells us how to identify the spirit of antichrist, "but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." The current pope, Benedict XVI, acknowledges Jesus as being from God and Jesus as coming in the flesh (see 1 John 4:2). While we disagree with Pope Benedict XVI on numerous areas of Catholic doctrine, his view of the Person of Jesus Christ is biblical. Therefore, it’s hard to believe that Pope Benedict XVI is the Antichrist. While we believe it is possible for a pope to be the Antichrist, the Bible does not give specific enough information to be dogmatic. A future pope very well may be the Antichrist, or perhaps the Antichrist’s false prophet (Revelation 13:11-17). If so, this future pope will be clearly identified by a denial of Jesus as coming in the flesh.

I don't believe it is this pope, but maybe the next one who will be the "False Prophet", not the antichrist. The antichrist has to be a political figure who is backed up by the false prophet. It is the false prophet who will deceive people, and cause them to worship the antichrist. He has authority like the beast (antichrist). Keep watch and pray!!!

Him and every other person on the planet. 666 simply means physical as in flesh and blood. It's not such a big mystery. The anti christ is simply a name for those that are against people being free to be who and what they are. Check out the news. Every day there's something else on about the moral police arresting people for having "thoughts" that are "different".
Look at the airline that shamed a young woman over her attire. None of their business. The moral majority are alive and well and taking over. This is antichrist.

no. the anti-christ will be an iraqi, but a member of the club of rome (a political organization). he will attempt to unite the religions of the world and will be exalted for it, and will deceive many/ most. in the bible, he is known as the ''antichrist'' in the new testament, or the ''man of sin'' in the old. in the quran, he is called the ''mahdi,'' the muslim savior. the reason the sunni and shi'ite muslims are fighting right now because they are both trying to force their own versions of islamic prophecy to be fulfilled. there are other reasons for their conflict, but this is the root cause of it.

Let the Bible answer this question so there is no misunderstanding.
"And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies." Rev.13:5.
You will remember that when Jesus said to the paralytic "your sins are forgiven," the pharisees who stood by thought to themselves, This man is speaking blasphemies, for, they said, "Only God can forgive sins." But Jesus could read their thoughts and He said to them, Which is easier to say to this man, Your sins are forgiven or rise and walk? And then He said, That you may know that the Son of man has power to forgive sins, I say to this man, Rise and walk! And immediately the man rose and walk!
It was not blasphemy for Jesus to say, "Your sins are forgiven" because He was God in human flesh. Now the pope claims that he has power to forgive sins. By saying that, has not the pope made himself God on earth and is that not blasphemy!
"The pope has styled himself 'Lord God the Pope' assuming infallibility and demanding that all men pay him homage..
'Blasphemous titles claimed for the pope have been embellished and enlarged over the centuries. Some of these boastful names appear in an encyclopedia (Roman Catholic) dictionary, by Lucius Ferraris, entitled Prompta Bibliotheca Canonica, Vol.Vi, p.438,442, article, "Pope." The Catholic Encyclopedia, 1913 Edition, Vol.Vi, p.48, speaks of this book as a 'veritable encyclopedia of religious knowledge,' and 'a precious mine of information.' Here are some statements taken from these pages:
"The pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not a mere man, but as it were God, and the vicar of God...
"Hence the pope is crowned with a triple crown, as king of Heaven and of earth and of the lower regions...
"So that if it were possible that the angels might err in the faith, or might think contrary to the faith, they could be judged and excommunicated by the pope...
"The pope is as it were God on earth, sole sovereign of the faithful of Christ, chief King of kings, having plenitude of power, to whom has been entrusted by the omnipotent God direction not only of the earthly but also of the heavenly kingdom...
"The pope can modify divine law, since his power is not of man but of God." What's Behind The New World Order? p.7.
When Jesus said to the Jews, "Before Abraham was, I AM," the Jews took up stones to cast at Him because Jesus had declared Himself to be equal to God! They had no reason to stone Him because He was God. But when the Pope declares that He is God and that he has the power to forgive sins, that, according to the Bible, is blasphemy, is it not?
Sine the pope has delegated the power to forgive sins to the bishops and priests, that makes "many antichrists."
catholic crusader: I seriously question that the pope or that the catholic church teaches that Christ came in the flesh in the Biblical sense. The church teaches that Christ did not come in the self-same sinful flesh as you and I have but in sinless flesh. For that reason, the church fails the test. To teach that Christ came in sinless flesh based on the false doctrine of the "Immaculate Conception" is the doctrine of Anticrhist! The Bible teaches that Jesus was a "descendant of David according to the flesh." Romans 1:3. David's flesh was sinful and therefore this means that the mystery of Godliness is that Jesus lived a sinless life in sinful flesh, and not in sinless flesh!
