I don't think all are, just those that can't take a joke or understand the connotations suggested by the different uniforms.
Most military impersonators do what they do for fame, glory or sometimes revenge (a la Jesse MacBeth). However, the intentions of these people hardly seem to be self-satisfaction or discrediting the military.
If they dressed up as pirates, would they be discrediting pirates? Either way, when I saw a video that poked fun of the Australian Defence Force's new recruiting policies, I laughed. It was funny stuff. I didn't laugh with Elton John and his... uhh... partner, but people need to lighten up. He's not trying to be a jerk.

Because they didn't think about it twice.
First of all. He's a Brit. So it's not "his"
uniform. And it's obviously some kind
of carnival event. You can consider it
disrespectful wearing the uniform at
a carnival event. But that's how carnival
works. No reason to rant about it. And
it's obvious that Brits have some strange
kind of humor when it comes to uniforms
and carnival. If I'm not mistaken the prince
was wearing a Nazi uniform at a similar
event sometime earlier this year.

Do you know the feelings of all Marines? If one Marine fines this offensive his service has paid for his right to voice such.To me it seems these two are mocking the military instead of honoring those brave British troops who will give their lives to defend Elton and his right to be gay when the jihad starts in Britain, if Britain is lucky they will just take over the government by majority and in act Shira Law. Maybe he can fly to the US befor they start the public hangings of homosexuals.

Elton John, being Gay, I've always liked him, I think this is way over the top though. At least he had the good sense to wear the uniform of a Soviet Officer, being obese and all.
This was in poor taste.

I am an ARMY wife-and yeah that's about disrespectful!!! they're proudly gay wearing a unform that is pretty anti-gay, they don't even live in this country let alone acknowledge it pretty much. not Hallowen yet either. maybe they're dreaming.- that they are men....My belief is, if you have not earned the right to "wear the uniform" u don't wear the uniform. kinda like the whole black beret issue. can I get a HOOAH from some RANGERS on that one!!!!!!!! My husband is in 17 yrs and has 13 of them in 2ND AND 75TH.

Boy was that poor judgement!
But I think most Marines are steady enough to give a civilian some leeway in a case like this.
Still, poor judgement...

Because the Marine Corp does not consider homosexual behavior as acceptable and the purpose of this picture is not intended to bring honor to you uniform, but to make fun of it. This is pretty apparent from the photos. I don't understand why you area asking this question to be honest.
Good Luck!!!

I'm sure a military man who knows what the uniform stands for would understand.
