Stop worrying, if I had a choice I wouldn't fly from anywhere else. I live 50 miles away and, depending on price, use either Bournemouth of Gatwick. But I wouldn't care if I never saw Gatwick again, providing the price was right.
You will probably be surprised just how small the airport is, at present, although it's in line for a £32 million face-lift. It has two long term, and one short term car park, with overflow facilities. You will find everything tiny but it adds to the charm.
There are usually two check-in desks for each flight, which wind round the departure hall. You will also find a small sandwich bar, where you can also get a coffee, soft drink etc. in this area.
Once through the immigration area, you will find a W.H.Smith for books, papers etc. and a "Duty Free" shop of sorts. You can also go through to a Food Hall and licensed bar, where you can sit and see the few departing/arriving planes through the large windows.
When the time comes to board you have a walk of at least 30 yards to the plane. If the plane can't park near the terminal, because there are already two there, you will be taken by coach to where it is standing.
The whole thing is so easy and so friendly, without the hustle and bustle of the large airports. The big plus comes on the return when your luggage appears more or less with you in the baggage reclaim. And most of all, at least as far as my flights have been concerned, I've always taken off on time and returned ahead of schedule.
Have a great experience.

Bournemouth International Airport (also know as Hurn Airport by locals) is a very small airport but has the basic facilities that you can expect from anywhere ie somewhere to eat/drink and buy the essentialls etc.

There is a bus service operated by Yellow Buses from the town centre, alternatively it's a short taxi ride away (note, if going by taxi then go from Christchurch station - it's closer!)

Hi,

I'd echo the comments of the above posters in saying that Bournemouth International Airport is very compact and provides a nice experience.

In terms of your concerns about flying, have you considered getting some help? It's quite a common phobia and one that you could approach your GP for assistance with. There are also a number of UK organisations that can help, while a number of airlines also offer courses to help you get over your fear of flying.

it's small, but, nice if you know what i mean. There are no rushing or panicing situations, if fact I've flown from there several times and would not hesitate to use it again.
