The NASCAR officials in the white suits seem more annoying than a panhandler begging for a money. They were in the pit box scrutinizing the adjustments made on a car, by the pit crew, getting in the crews way, and making them lose time.

Oh aren't they so rude!

They count the number of people over the wall, what the crews are wearing,, check where the driver parks, watch how many lug nuts go in the tire, watch were the tires go, and watch if the car leaves with pit parts still attached. They even tell crews when they can and can't work, just because there is a red flag out. All this often in less that 30 seconds.

A catch can on the track is just more debris on the track. Cars hitting tires and tossing them as other cars and crews, and the driver on the track with a loose/missing lug nut.

They may be 'getting in the way' but it is their job and if they didn't stand there like they do there would be lots of illegal changes made to the cars on pit stops and give the driver an unfair advantage over the others....like when Mikey Waltrip tried using jet fuel in his racecar. He got busted for that one, but what if the officials weren't around? Or what if he got in a crash? There is a good reason they hover. Don't fault them for doing their jobs.

I saw that. We looked at each other and said "huh"? What are they doing? I think someone better tell NASCAR their officials better stick to loose lug nuts before a crewman "accidentally" floors one of them.

It's called doing your job. That's what they are paid to do.
