After I tell the story, would you get help for this dog?

My brother found this dog last year. He was working in Detroit and this little puppy kept following him around. So he kept it. It is the cutest thing, he is older now. He is a pit bull, shepherd, malamute mix. He has absolutely no manners, he jumps on the couch, on the kitchen table, if they don't put him in the cage while their gone he destroys everything. And lately he's been biting strangers. We think its because hes scared and he can either run away or attack. And he attacks. But the weird thing is, I can stick my hand in his mouth, I can do anything to him and he won't attack me. And there are also 2 cats in the house. He plays with them, bites them (not hard), hes gentle with them. Is it just because he doesn't attack the people that know him? He's really bad at walking too, he pulls aggressively. Since I've known him all his life, he is the biggest baby ever, but to strangers, hes a savage!

It sounds like this dog is in bad need of training. He has absolutely no manners?? Why not? It's the human members of this dogs family's job to be the alpha members of the pack and take control. If not....I mean...come on. Pit? Malamute? Strong willed dogs that are only too happy to be the leader of the pack if not given a clear position in the family. Not to sound harsh, but situations just like this are one reason that pits have such a bad rep. He needs obedience training, consistency, and lots of it. As far as the situation of he can run away or attack, so he attacks and you think it's fear....I don't buy that if the dog has a clear means to escape. Most (what I call) "fear biters" will bite when they see no other means of escape. They feel cornered, they have exhausted their options of escape, so as a last resort they bite. I've gotten in a few rescues that were that way. But if given a route of escape, they would opt for that every time. This dog has aggression issues from the sound of things. It's going to take some serious commitment to turn around his attitude, and your brother and family are going to have to be ready to commit to the long haul to help turn this dog around, if that's what they want for him. Otherwise, and this may sound hard...if they aren't willing/able to take steps to turn things around, euthanasia may be the better choice because he could wind up seriously dangerous further down the road. The destroying the house if not crated....that doesn't bother me so much. I have two JRTs and a basenji that if I left loose, would have a hey day wreaking havoc on my house. He's just a typical bored dog looking for something to do. Crates are great for that purpose, so long as the dog is given adequate time and attention so that the crate is not just "doggie prison". Good luck with him.

For walking try a prong collar, it almost teaches the dog its self, it much better on the dog than a flat or choke collar. I would suggest a training sessions with a professional one on one before doing a group class. I had a dog that was like this too, this was before all the behavior modifications were so popular. He changed at the age of two, previous to that I thought he'd help a burglar clear the house out he was so friendly. So I walked him at night, less likely to run into someone and he would be confined if somebody he did like came to visit. He was fine with our cat didn't care for dogs. I allow my pets on the couch, but the kitchen table!! keep it clear of any foods and a firm correction when he's caught in the act and positive reward when he obeys.

I would get help for him, he's part of the family, the kitties would miss him and to top it off he's a great looking dog.

You need to take this dog to obedience classes, but beware: he needs positive training, never the type of training that uses ANY violence or choking collars whatsoever, or he may turn more aggressive. Find a good dog behaviourist, and make sure to keep the dog confined, because if he bites someone he may be put down and it will be wrong because he is basically a good dog. Also neutering is recommended.

Singing to Ur cat wont support it it simply simply is not use for your smell but positioned it in a room with some thing at the side of your sent on it to get use to it then slowly come up to it and positioned your hand out within the course of it and allow it come to you do not try to grab it it'll so much robust aggravate and effectively on account that it is spayed does no longer indicate some thing cats effectively have dangerous tempers a few situations

Hes SO cute. Do obedience class. Nueter. When you take him outside put a mzzle on! You dont want him to be put down. Get bitter apple spray and spray it on hiz mouth/nose area when he jumps on the couch or any other bad things.

I can't see your pics :-(
I think your brother should enrol in obedience classes, to learn the basics, that way, he will slowly become leader in Kippers' eyes, and some of the undesirable behaviour should lessen as a result.

keep him away from strangers until he is properly socialized by a canine behavioral therapist. it's especially important for you to keep him away from strangers not only because it's terrible to be bitten by a dog, but because the people he bites can demand that he be put down. for the safety of other people and for the safety of your doggy, keep him inside as much as possible until you seek professional help. good luck!
