These Scriptures may help your understanding of why -

*** rs p. 206 pars. 1-3 Jehovah’s Witnesses ***

Jesus foretold for our day this work: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.” He also instructed his followers: “Go . . . and make disciples of people of all the nations.”—Matt. 24:14; 28:19.

When Jesus sent out his early disciples, he directed them to go to the homes of the people. (Matt. 10:7, 11-13) The apostle Paul said regarding his ministry: “I did not hold back from telling you any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching you publicly and from house to house.”—Acts 20:20, 21; see also Acts 5:42.

The message that the Witnesses proclaim involves the lives of people; they want to be careful to miss no one. (Zeph. 2:2, 3) Their calls are motivated by love—first for God, also for their neighbor.

Again text taken out of context, yes Jesus said that that is true but if you keep reading when he was among them he gave them instructions on how to conduct themselves, he said "do not transfer yourselves from house to house but rather stay in a house when traveling that welcomes you and let the people come to you.

I also know that Jehovah's believe that if they do not do this go from door to door they will not be saved and don't know if this is true, but that many are chastised by their leaders if they don't convert so many, i have a hard time believing it but then I am not Jehovah I am a Christian. Christianity envelopes all religions this is why Jesus said not everyone who thinks they know him will be saved. Judge not so that you don't get judged with the same way you judged others of other beliefs and so on. Peace to man for there is already peace in heaven.

Yes I do know why. This looks like a nice speech, but sadly, a speech none the less. You really should've put it in Yahoo! 360.

Matthew 24:14 makes it clear what ALL Christians should be doing.

You and the others have lined it. To Jeffery Springer...all of us comprehend that Mosaic regulation codes are in basic terms contained contained in the first Bible books written by technique of Moses. regardless of the truth that all those contained in the content of what we call the Hebrew-Aramaic Scriptures and different faiths call the former testomony were less than that regulation, something of those works contain prophecies about Christianity, Jesus, the finest days/time of the top of devil's rulership, Armegeddon, the thousand 365 days judgment day and mentions of issues on to eternity. we do not call Matthew-Revelation the recent testomony both as others do. We call it the Christian Greek Scriptures. Debbie

That is part of their initiation and requirements for their religion. I don't know the actual time they have to spend in"field", but is part of the acceptance to do so for all members.

I'm going to guess they troll the streets to ruin festive events for the rest of us?

I totally understand the excuse that they use as to why they do it, I just don't understand why they would want to do it. The Bible also says to stone adulterers and homosexuals, and they don't do that. Or to sacrifice certain animals for certain things and they don't do that either. Do their women hide themselves during their period as the Bible states? I doubt it.

I knew that was the reason why. It doesn't make it any less annoying. They can find other ways to do this.

So if you already know the answer why did you ask? I don't think it is that people don't know why they do it, we just don't care!
