Does "GOD" really take sides? Does God say "Well, The nice people in the USA prayed to protect Sgt Bill so I will". Then God kills the insurgents?

We prayed for our troops in Vietnam but we still lost.

Well, after we sent Bush a clear message in the Fall '06 elections saying that we wanted the troops home he responded by... sending more.

Maybe praying is the last option we've got.

Assumedly because they believe God is going to protect young Sergeant William.

However, being used to the notion that the United States is always the good guy power of the world, some people are often under the assumption that God will "help out the good guys". And if Sgt Bill were to die right now, I don't think anyone would blame God for it anyway.

Some people can't see things from the perspective of others. Thousands of miles away, the family of an insurgent is praying for their deity of choice to protect him, convinced he's doing the right thing.

Personally, I'll trust God's decision about who lives and who dies.

We don't pray for them to win. We pray for their safety. We pray that the war will be over soon, and will have a more positive result that it does now so the lives lost will not be in vain. We pray that their families will be comforted. We pray that they will be able to come home soon. We don't pray for a winner or a loser. We pray for peace. We don't just want them safe we don't want more iraqi's to die either. So that is why we pray for the troops.

We don't pray for the insurgents to die, we pray for God to keep the troops safe and bring them home alive to their family and friends back home who love them very much.

I think you might have won the ignorant question of the day award.

Those who pray for troops pray for their safety. I being an atheist have the freedom to hope for victory, knowing our troops represent a much better life and freedoms then the enemy they kill. Take nothing from Sgt. Bill he alone is responsible for the death of a terrorist. You libs still like "insurgents" kills your areas gray. I am so thankful for the clear thinking to state, Sgt. Bill good, dead terrorist better.

God takes no side in war, we pray to keep our troops safe according to God's will not ours and we pray that our soldiers that are fighting and die are allowed an eternity in heaven and for God's grace of acceptance for the families of those that have died that they can accept their loss.

You (we) have no idea how many of our young men and women fighting in Iraq have been saved because of our prayers, nor do we know how many souls have been saved because of prayer.
There has been scientific studies of people that were in the hospital , some were prayed for some were not, those that had other people praying for them had a much higher rate of recovery and survival than those that did not.

I can assure you there are NO athiests in foxholes when the shelling starts.

God DOES take sides in war... read your Old Testament !

I pray for the troops to be safe, a safe return, victory...and even pray for the terrorist scum....to be sent to Hell !

As for the rest of the YA nutjobs who don't have a clue about God...read your Bible before you flap your lips.

Vietnam was lost not by the military, but by a gutless Congress, anti war protestors {TRAITORS}, and no one insisting we do whatever it took to win.

Apparently there are still a few Americans who appreciate the sacrifices their troops are willing to make for America, you alas do not fall into this category.
