How about stating the next verse.. the rest of the story:
11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
Are we seeking to be justified by the law?
This does not mean grace is an excuse to disobey either.
What matters is your love for God and others.
Love will keep you from doing those things.
FYI - no one said that Christians are perfect... they are trying to get things right, just like you. Work out your own salvation in fear and trembling. God will judge everyone - believers and non-believers.
It helps to keep things in context, literally or otherwise.

Yes, I believe this Bible passage should be taken literally. And you are quite right, countless professed Christians practice the things condemned in this scripture. But that should not be surprising. There have been countless weeds that profess to be wheat for centuries.

This passage applies to non-Christians. These people need to learn about God and how he feels about these vices. Note verse 11 in the same passage. That is what some of you WERE. People can change their bad ways by the power of God's word and by praying for His holy spirit to help them change. Some so-called Christians still act this way so they are Christians in name only not by their actions. God is not one to be mocked. He knows all that we do in our everyday lives.

What it means is - sin can not be allowed into Heaven. Because if one rapist or murderer got in then it wouldn't Heaven any more. Just like if you have a clear glass of water and you put even just the tiniest drop of food coloring in - the water goes cloudy. But the thing is - the Bible also says that if you lust after someone else then you've "raped" them and if you hate someone in your heart then you've "killed" them. So basically none of us can get in to Heaven... except that we can because Jesus died on that cross on Calvary and took our sin on His shoulders so that if we trust in Him he will "cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Hope that answered your question.

everyone has the right to have eternal life and to inherit the kingdom of God. only you have to be sorry for your sins and have Jesus as your personal saviour. you're right not agreeing to what other Christians say.

If you want to be a good Christian, then yes you should probably take that line seriously. But if you are willing to take that line seriously then you should take everything else literally too. So besides condemning homosexuals, you should believe that animals were meant to be killed for food, women are to below men, we should have slaves, and every other ridiculous thing they have in there.

Paul was a disturbed, fanatical preacher. He was creating his own Church in contravention of Jesus' teachings. Ironically, he was right about swindlers, of which he was one.

IT WAS TRUE THEN AND IT IS TRUE NOW. THESE THINGS ARE AN ABOMINATION TO GOD AND GOD IS UNCHANGEABLE. HE DIDN'T LIKE IT THEN, HE DOESN'T LIKE IT NOW, AND HE WILL NOT LIKE IT IN THE FUTURE. TO ENGAGE IN THESE ACTS IS A SURE WAY TO DAMNATION UNLESS YOU REPENT AND ASK FOR FORGIVENESS.
