you know the whole, thos people aren't REAL Christians. And really, when you think about it, would Jesus have been a snob? You know, THOSE people aren't good enough. He did hang out with the prostitutes and all.

It's the God Squad! Those who believe Jesus died and left them in charge (and I've had more than just a few on here tell me that Jesus did indeed die and left them in charge - AND they were dead serious - I thought I was going to piss my pants from laughing so hard).
As for the prostitutes "He only hung out with them to tell them they were going to hell"... is one response I've gotten when asking about this type of thing, yet they can never provide verses. The people he got on the most were the Pharisees - those people that used the Old Test/Torah to keep everyone else in line - it's what got the Pharisees in power, by claiming certain things in the Torah was God telling those people that they needed to follow the Pharisees (and Saducees). How any of these people in the God Squad can NOT see that is what they are doing, acting like Pharisees, is beyond me.

I would say yes. They can't say who is and isn't a christian.. the term christian was a roman insult which means "mini-christ".. and has come to mean one who follows christ.
Jesus would've been somewhat of a snob.. jews were not to associate with gentiles.. notice he didn't do that. He also did not hang out with prostitutes... that's not even in the bible.
Mary Magdalene was not a prostitute in the bible. That's something the catholic church made up and propagated.
If these fundamentalist snobs actually read their bible and then studied some history, they'd be in for a huge paradigm shift.

i see what you mean.
the ironic thig is many say "you disagree with me because I have the truth" yet disagree(almost to the point of hatred) with EVERYONE else.
therefore, by their own logic, everyone else must be right.
Kallan, Jesus did hang out with Prostitutes, not necessarily Mary Magdelene. He was at someones house and a woman came, the pharisees wanted to kick her out becuase they knew "she'd been around"
She washed Jesus' feet with her hair and tears.
Jesus told her "your faith has saved you, go in peace"

Isn't the definition of a snob someone who thinks it's all about him? Get over yourself, CJ.
Jesus hung out with prostitutes, tax collectors, and everybody else his Hebrew brethren avoided to make a point -- that He had come for everyone. But I don't recall reading that He told any of them that they were members of a cult and doomed to hell unless they listened to him; instead, he met them where they were, and told them the truth with love. His strongest language was reserved for the most legalistic among His own -- the Pharisees.
So no, I wouldn't call these folks "Jesus snobs" because I see very little of Jesus in them.

Interesting the way these guys parrot what they have been told the bible says.
Apparently they never actually read it, or they would know that it does not say these things at all.
Jesus was not the jerk they make him out to be with all of their biblical misinterpretations.
love and blessings Don
Edit: Right CJ. we are obsessed with judgmental people who apparently never read the bible.

It isn't snobbery that does this, but a need to separate themselves from people and/or things which cause them to have doubts which they fear will weaken them.
Remember that when a person is certain about something they have no need to defend it. Where there are doubts, people defend their belief to try to convince themselves as much as to try to convince others. I know this from 15 years personal experience of when I used to be a christian.

well... i'm probably one of those ''nameless'' ones. if i seperate myself from others though (in the real world, not the R&S world), it's usually because i can't relate to many people, due to my faith.
