submission seems to be a key word and to resist is the antonym, so we are not to resist God, we are to do what He wants us to do each day, each hour, every minute, SO HOW DO WE KNOW AND PLEASE USE YOUR OWN WORDS, not verses unless just as the reference from which you drived your own worded answer, I like to look up your references but I like to hear it in real, everyday language.

Reading the Bible lets you know whether or not you are submitting to God's Will.

The Bible tells you His Word and I just try to live what the Bible says.

I fail every day. But each and every day, I'm getting better and better. I lay down by will and try to live the way God wants me to live.

Proverbs really is life changing words of wisdom. Even in this day and time, they work. They're not easy to live by but I just try to live as closely as possible to those words.

I know you said don't quote any Scriptures but the only to submit to God is to know His Will and the only way to know His Will is by reading His Words which are in the Bible.

I once read this saying somewhere. The word, Bible, means:

B - Biblical
I - Instructions to live by
B - Before we
L - Leave this
E - Earth

I feel it means that we take God's guidelines and principles into our life's decisions. At every moment we are faced with choices. The Bible does say that what is bad in me makes me lean toward being bad. So we have to fight off those inclinations of badness and focus on God's righteous principles. God's ways are the best for us. He created us and knows us well so even though we may want to choose something in our way of thinking, we should take into consideration how God will feel about it first. God's ways are higher than ours. So technically we are being in submission to our heavenly Father.

To me at least, submission to God is doing His will.

And I think His will is really not all that complicated.

Believe in His Son and love one another as He has first loved us.

But we could spend our whole life practicing this particular gospel "love" - patience, kindness, compassion, etc. - and never get it exactly right.

So it's really not all that complicated - but very hard - that's why we have a Savior!

We're not perfect. He is.

Not only our savior and the opener of the gates of heaven, Jesus is our teacher. By living as He did, by responding as He did to situations which arise in my life, I submit myself to His will (desire) for me. Of course this requires that I be familiar with his life. Which I am.

As St. Augustine so very profoundly put it, "Love. And do as you will.".
