Extreme fundamentalism is fanaticism by definition. Fundamentalism is also legalistic, and another term for that is pharisaic.

Aren't there fanatics in every part of society? It is about a belief taken too far and sometimes perverting it. As a Christian, I try to stay away from Christian fanatics. The make me uncomfortable. NOT all Christians are like those fanatics.
