Yes, absolutely. The soul (atman) is immortal, while the body is subject to birth and death. The idea that the soul (of any living being - including animals, humans and plants) reincarnates is intricately linked to karma. Karma (literally: action) is the sum of one's actions, and the force that determines one's next reincarnation.

After many births, every person eventually becomes dissatisfied with the limited happiness that worldly pleasures can bring. At this point, a person begins to seek higher forms of happiness, which can be attained only through spiritual experience. When, after much spiritual practice, a person finally realizes his or her own divine nature - i.e., realizes that the true "self" is the immortal soul rather than the body or the ego - all desires for the pleasures of the world will vanish, since they will seem insipid compared to spiritual bliss. When all desire has vanished, the person will not be reborn anymore. When the cycle of rebirth thus comes to an end, a person is said to have attained moksha, or salvation. The soul may come here again, but at will. This is reincarnation. Some examples are Lord Buddha, Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva.

There are many problems with the salvation-by works doctrine of reincarnation. First, there are many practical problems. For example:
1. We must ask, why does one get punished for something he or she cannot remember having done in a previous life?
2. If the purpose of karma is to rid humanity of its selfish desires, then why hasn't there been a noticeable improvement in human nature after all the millennia of reincarnations?
3. If reincarnation and the law of karma are so beneficial on a practical level, then how do advocates of this doctrine explain the immense and ever-worsening social and economic problems - including widespread poverty, starvation, disease, and horrible suffering - in India, where reincarnation has been systematically taught through out its history?
There are also many biblical problems with believing in reincarnation. For example, in 2 Corinthians 5:8 the apostle Paul states, "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." At death, the, the Christian immediately goes into the presence of the Lord, not into another body. In keeping with this. Luke 16:19-31 tells us that unbelievers at death go to a place of suffering, not into another body.
Further, Hebrews 9:27 assures us that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." Each human being LIVES ONCE as a mortal on earth, DIES ONCE, and then FACES JUDGMENT. He does not have a second chance by reincarnating into another body.

Yes of course. The concept of reincarnation has now been proved scientifically by Dr.Brian Weiss in his book 'Many Lives many Masters'. Dr.Brian Weiss has proved it beyond doubt that the Hindu belief in reincarnation of soul is absolutely true. You must read his books for some amazing revelations. Dr.Weiss has researched and revealed that there were many chapters in the Bible on reincarnation that have been deleted by the Church to maintain its supremacy upon human religious affairs and also to maintain the theory of the Judgment day that is believed by Christians, Jews and Muslims. The theory of 'Judgement day' has been misinterpreted by narrow minded religious leaders to serve their vested interests and as a result the TRUTH has been compromised.

Yes. If you stop here you will miss a re-run, if it's not a re-run for you keep reading. I believe we only come back as human. This is, in part, what I believe. I do believe in reincarnation. We can chose to remain in spirit, where we learn very slowly, or we can choose to be "born again" into the earth, basically that means we go to school. We learn faster when we are in human form rather than spirit form. I don't think God wants us to rest on our heels, but I don't think he is willing to force us to do anything. I also believe in karma. Karma is not punishment, it's a way of teaching. For example if you deliberately maim someone in one life, you may choose to come back handicapped in the same kind of way. That’s the only thing that makes sense to me. Like where Jesus healed that man who had been blind from birth. His apostles asked what had the man did, or if it was something which his parents did. If the man who was blind from birth did something to deserve blindness, he must have done it in another life. It only makes sense. There are several areas in the Bible where there are left-overs from the removal of the teaching of reincarnation. I have other examples, John the Baptist’s message to Jesus while he was in prison for a 2nd example. Check it out. We get to be the receiver of those things we did wrong during other lives. Walk a mile in the shoes of one we have hurt so to speak. It teaches, and we are only on earth for a relatively short time. When someone lives an evil life, it does not mean they will necessarily be punished for it during this lifetime. They may go through hell, (and I have an unusual idea of what this is), before they have the option to come back, but when they do, they will have to live through the karma they have created. They will, just as we all will, learn from what they do, or they may be evil all the way through. If they are, there is no choice left but to destroy the evil.
Blessed Be

With out reincarnation, the whole idea of God and justice just crumbles and makes no sense at all.
Why are some people regardless of their religion always in pain and poverty and why others seem to have all the luck in the world. Is God so Cruel and unjust?
What is yr Idea of God and every thing that is fair. People who do not will fully want to believe in reincarnation want to get away with murder by being completely forgiven (according to them) by Jessus for all their sins. 2and 2 add up to 4 and u cannot argue it away.

i am a muslim so i can only speak for myself. islam does not believe in the theory of reincarnation. before our souls were blown into our bodies, we were kept as statues made by ALLAH out of mud & clay. before officially coming into this world, our souls are kept in a place called "aalam-e-arwah", meaning 'the world of souls'. There we have a temporary life span after which then we are sent here, on earth. sometimes we simply like someone, even without knowing the person and sometimes, without any rhyme or reason, we seem to be at cross with a person, this is because of our interaction experience with that person in the world of souls. after the death of a person, souls of the good people are kept at a different place as compared to souls of bad people. whenever there are any occasional celeberations such as ID or any other such event, these good souls are allowed to come and visit their relatives places whereas bad one's are not allowed. rather they are under constant suffering. this phase is like a waiting period till that DAY OF JUDGEMENT, when all deeds will be accounted for.

i dont because nothing about it is said in the bible.i believe the bible and that there is god because there is always an ultimate for something.
eg, a car. it didnt just pop out of nowhere. it was made by someone, the ultimate.

languages. they didnt come out of nowhere. someone must have made them for communication.

similarly there must be an ultimate power, that is the god. science say that humans developed from monkeys. if so, then where did the minkey come from???? sure it did not pop out of thin air!!!!!!
another reason i believe in bible is because all the stories about jesus, his birth, life, passion,, death, resurrection and the later unity with the father was predicted and written in the old testement in the bible long before he was born. he is the only person that was born without a sexual intercourse between a male and a female. he was formed by the words and and the holy spirit! all the miracles he did, there were witnesses. there r people even now that have recieved the holy spirit and the power of god. me myself has felt the support and power of god.(not through holy spirit) still my two cousins have achieved holy spirit in their lives. then y do people say that there is no god and that they do believe in reincarnation? bible does say about another life after death where the dead person comes back to the earth in another form. the life either in heaven or hell. the bible says that we face the judgement and lead another life. well, everyone waits in the purgatory until the world has come to an end and then every person faces the judgement and then lives in the heaven or in the hell according to what sort of life he led. that life is eternal. heaven with all the ahppiness and hell with all the sufferings. its our soul that goes, not the dead body. we r not flesh as we r now when we go there. we will be ghostly people. the rebirth in spirit, not in flesh and we dont come back to earth!!!!!!

Certainly not in a religious sense as no gods exist. But the possibility of what some physicists call "Quantum Immortality" could perhaps lead to something similar.

see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_immortality

The idea stems from the fact that we are not the physical brain but the programming that the brain performs and that if we live in an infinite multiverse that programming might be duplicated in another brain elsewhere.

Yes, I do believe in reincarnation. I am sure we have several lives. That's how we learn all we have to learn. One life wouldn't be enough... If we had only one life, we all would be in trouble, my friend!

Relax, learn what you can and be prepared to come again.

Peace!

NO. The Word of God says, "JUST AS MAN IS DESTINED TO DIE ONCE, AND AFTER THAT TO FACE JUDGMENT..." (Hebrews 9:27) It simply says, no man reincarnates. The reincarnation thing is a lie and deception from the devil. He will make you believe that life will just be a cycle when it is not. For he will do all things to make men suffer in the lake of fire through deceptions. Don't be deceived. The Truth says it all, man after death will face God in judgment. Are you ready to face HIM? God said, "FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH, BUT THE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD." (Romans 6:23)
