thanks for that link. Us true smoke fans always knew he was a great guy. I like tony for tony, not just cause he is winning or losing, or even making the switch to toyota next year. As long as he is racing, he will always be my favorite. I dont want someone being politically correct, I want someone who is going to tell me the truth, and not sugarcoat anything. Hell sometimes I have a bad temper, and if everyone was honest with themselves, they would see that they too have tempers and are not always politically correct all the time. Racing is racing and the man has a job to do. He has passion for racing and winning. We havent seen that since the late great dale sr. Tony is the best all around driver out there in nascar. His multiple other racing series championships prove that and speak for themselves.

Hes not a bad guy. Hes done some good things like buying dirt tracks and some good charity work. I dont like Tony because after he won a Cup, suddenly the younger drivers were expected to move aside and let him go to the front. He became an arrogant a** crying about bump drafting and then doing more of it than anybody. He purposely wrecks drivers who may bump him or rub him wrong. Rubbin is racin but since he became a champion, his ego has went crazy and he is a jerk. Reminds me of a young arrogant Jeff Gordon. Gordon has matured though. It cant be coincidence that Tony is involved in so many crashes and issues with other drivers.

Not a Tony (the driver) fan, but I did like the article. He does great things with charities and I bet he's a nice guy out of the track.
i really liked what he said "I'm not there to run for office. I'm there to win a race".

Thanks for sharing the article. The Smoke I've heard ofoff the track IS a different guy at the track, no doubt. I give him kudos for the Victory Junction contributions and other good work. That said, I've been eye witness to more than a few specific words and actions that were very unkind. You can't root for everybody and I choose not to root for him. I wish no ill will towards him and even found myself rooting for him a little when his winless streak started getting a little long.

Good article, it didn't change my opinion of him though. I already knew that he wasn't all bad. I just would like to see him take responsibility for his actions occasionally. I really do not think I will ever be a fan but he does do a lot of good things. Most of them do and I am not necessarily a fan of theirs either. But, like Tony says being genuine about your feelings is okay.

Who says he's a bad guy? Just because he throws temper tantrums same as Danica Patrick doesn't make him bad. Just spoiled.
I knew that about him. Now, if he would only fix the track he owns (Eldora) so we can see the cars in turns 3 and 4 and the dust doesn't kill a few of us in the stands, he'd be OK in my book.

Tony is not a bad guy. But the way that he conducts himself under stress makes you wonder if he truly is a genuine good guy. I'm not saying that it's bad to show emotions, but he goes overboard. Some of the things that he's done in the past make you wonder what his true colors really are.

Yes, he does a lot of good things!
But just last night he lost another 44 points in the chase!
He's almost out of it!
In this case he got ran over in the pits?
I don't know how his team let that happen!
It seems like him and Menard pit next to each other every week, and it's not working out!
