Hi.There is only one common purpose of a speaker, and that is to faithfully reproduce what is sent to it from the Amplifier.

Sight: it must look good to you
Sound: it must sound good to you
Smell: it must not make the room smell bad
Touch: it must feel like fine furniture
Taste: it should look eatable -don't try this at home
Price: it should be worth spend your money on
