Is it even possible to stay in recovery , when you live with a every day drinker. Fell off my wagon 2 days ago after being in recovery forever. Now I'm not only sick but my family is mortified.

No its not
Your programn will tell you that rule one is
Avoid people, places and things.
If you lay down with dogs you will get fleas. i was in your situation. I left went into re hab and and now sober for over 5 years. Please listen to your gut feeling, you know its wrong that you are there otherwise you would not have posted this question.
Please please go to an AA meeting, get sorted and become the wonderful person you can be.
Good Luck

It has been done. However, not every person can do it. If you find it is tempting for you then I would say that your answer is no. Put your recovery first, do what you need to do to stay clean. Tell yourself that after you get a good base to your recovery going again then you will decide if you should come back to this relationship....chances are that you won't want to be in the relationship anymore. good luck.

those that say go to meeting`s talk to your councelor, worry, worry, worry!!!shush! i have been sober for 14 years and have fallen off the wagon a few times in the process. it is very difficult no matter who you are to live with an everyday drinker, but you have control over your own thoughts, feelings and action`s.no one can force you to make the decision`s that you make in life that`s why you need to follow thru on your promise that you made to yourself when you first stopped drinking..and was it for you or your familly?also i`ve been to rehab and tried the whole alanon thing.and did not find the jargen to be helpful, but dont be discouraged. keep your head up and remember we`ve all fallen off the wagon in one way or another.it`s getting back up that matters most..

wow..that would be like an obese person living everyday looking at a bunch of cake , & aint supposed to touch it... It may be possible, but very very VERY stressful... even with smoking, most people cant quit when someone in the house does it..always around , calling your name.dont beat yourself up about it...Dont say, Ill try not to do it again..say I WILL NOT do it again...trying & actually doing are different.
YOU CAN DO IT....youve been through alot, this will be a breeze , .....right??

I would think it would be very difficult to not succumb to temptation if it's around you every minute. you might have to choose between him and your own health.
