Youve only got a pair of precious eyes. Dont mess with it. Go to the ophthalmologists right away. Do not use contacts until you are cleared of the infection. Its dangerous to self medicate eye infection. Some eye ointments have antibiotics and steroids whose use is best determined by the eye doctor. Wrong move and you can go blind.

Yes! Doxycycline is one of the tetracycline line of antibiotics used for a broad spectrum of minor infections in the body. They generally have the ability to be tolerated for long periods of treatment, but sometimes must be taken with food to avoid stomach upset. Be patient. Bacteria are hard to fully get rid of nowadays. It will take a week or more for effects to show. Trust your doctor in this matter. However, be aware that the tetracycline antibiotics deteriorate over time, become toxic, and old medications MUST be discarded, lest you have a nasty side effect. Further, avoid taking pills or liquid anti-acids while on this medication. The OTC meds containing aluminum, magnesium and such.

GO TO THE DOCTOR AND ER!!!!

You must have had dirty hands or contacts are not clean enough to create this infection. Try warm washcloth to help get rid of the crust from the puss. But again tell your doctor!!! Eyes are precious!!

i know a sty is different from what you have, but when i had one i was looking up ways to clean my eye and i read somewhere to get some johnson & johnson baby shampoo (since it's no tears), mix some with warm water, and clean around the eye lids with a q-tip.
