"The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone forces his way into it. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void."
"Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery."

The Law and the Prophets were until John. He's(Jesus) speaking of John the Baptist, who began preaching about the good news. Before John religion was Laws and if people were messing up, usually a prophet came and told them to knock it off.

and everyone forces his way into it. the New King James version states "everyone is pressing his way into it." ~the general populous are liking this new way.

But it's easier ... meaning the law has not lost force, or importance or truth.
and yes, marrying someone who has been divorced and their wife/husband isn't dead is commiting adultary.

Jewish people were very adamant about that they wanted to live by law. So they knew it was adultery if they had sex with other women than their wife. However, they thought that if it was made possible to make a law that you can divorce your wife, and then marry the woman you want to do adultery with, then it would be right. And God tells us that it does not work that way. They are still adulterers even tough they have made it " legal "

God hates divorces, but He also where you are at when you are not in a healthy relationship. He asks us to reconcile and forgive, but He allows divorce for harness of our heart.

Basic meaning of this is that we cannot make it / have our salvation by law, and we all need Jesus for our salvation and for forgiveness of our sins.

Divorce is not allowed in the Bible. Only if one or the other commits fornication or adultery. If you separate and one has sex with another person, then that person commits fornication. You are allowed to live separately if your life is in danger or that of your children. Only adultery or fornication are grounds for a divorce. And even then there has to be a confession on the guilty party or two witnesses. Marriage is sacred, it is not to be taken lightly.

It means God hates divorce. A person is bound to their spouse as long as they are alive.

Even in cases of unfaithfulness, instead of divorce, forgiveness should be sought, since we are to forgive one another "70X7" times; likewise ...

"The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord." - 1 Corinthians 7:39.
